Title: Bow or Polearm?

I am almost at level 31, currently a shielder. For my second generation, I kind of want to try out an archer or a pikeman/polearm-person, whatever you call them. Which do you think I should try out? I was leaning towards the idea of making an alternative archer, and making my main a pikeman/polearm-person.

Also, if I will choose to become one of those, which item would be best to loom (Bow, polearm, armor)? I know, selling the loom is better, but I'm just too lazy to find someone who wants to buy one, trading it, etc. etc. ^^

Make a STF archer and see if you even like the gameplay. I could never play my archer alt more than an hour in one session because it's boring to play compared to melee.
