Title: Sickles and picks
Post by: haxKingdom on March 10, 2012, 10:09:23 pm
No one seems to have touched this one. Picks aren't hammers, so they should loom like swords and not be given increased weight with their damage. Also, their kill icon right now looks like a mace, but they aren't maces.  :?

You are completely and utterly wrong.  Picks are in the hammer family as they have the same weight distribution & design of a hammer, a heavy weight at the end of a fairly short shaft.  The difference is they have a pointed end to focus the armor penetrating power (Force * Weight) of the blow.  Same force + reduced surface area = more pressure, basic physics.

Updated kill icon would be nice

Updated kill icon would make me use picks :D It's a shame that 2hand "pick" (Morningstar) has it's own icon, but not 1hand picks

Still it seems weird getting a negative attribute when looming something. I have a feeling since they share the same icon as hammers, the devs didnt separate the two into different types of weaponry. <--still true imo

Weight is good for weapons, it helps prevent stun and helps stun :|, and some picks can be used as a hammer with kb.

The weight is a bonus not a negative, its will thud/glance less as a result of being heavier.

Weight bonus is not negative. Ever manual blocked a heavy weapon and gotten stuck in the block? That is a weapon stun. The heavier the better.
