I think it should be awesome when only the Ego-View is allow to use! No more RUSH-OF-DEATH-STREETFIGHTER-FEELING like One-Man-Armies, no one can watch his own back now!
Is this makeable!? Maybe on own servers.
-
If it was a proper 1st person view then it might be interesting, but currently it has one of the most awful (For a video game) perspectives I have ever seen with such a narrow view cone. In RL I have a much better field of vision then what is currently offered for the game, so I would hardly call it realism.
+1 for the idea though.

First person is alright, forcing it would be fucking funny and easy for the few who use it

With a strawhat maybe. But with helmet... :P

I play First person, always, on every character. I consider it cheap to use third person and have turned first person on from the day I started playing.
If there was a first person only server that was NA I would play it all the time.

Any open-face helmet has a wider field of view then what we have ingame. It's the same field of view I'd get if I put 3 fingers at the edges of my eyes. Really really narrow field of vision.

Even in Great Helm and Klappenvisier (irl) i had way better view than in-game 1st person view, so until it's fixed 3rd person is way to go.
-
Yeah, i know how good is the view in a visorhelmet (Sallet and Hundsgugel, after that ... i prefer my Eisenhut much more ;) ) ... but we never can implement that in M&B Multi ;D
But i think a server with only ego-view, will bring the ppl to more Teamplay ... in cause no one want the enemy in his blind back ...
-
well, most people just play the way that gets them most kills, and that's in 3rd person.
ofc i wouldnt mind a 1st person server, but i dont think it would be very populated
-

You already get part of your view blocked by the bevor of the gothic plate w/ bevor in first person, thats a start
-
would love it if free camera look was disabled (you know ctrl), while it is useful it does take alot of stealth/realism/fun out of the game
first person only though? no thanks the FPV in this game is HORRID.
-
I always use first person. I don't know it just works better for me, I don't tend to get ambushed to often and I can really keep my eye on my opponents distance and swing direction. The only times it is a downside is sometimes I get lazy and they can dance into a blind spot really easily.
-
There's nothing like getting headshotted in FPV.
-
Another problem of fps, having axes in various part of your body cause your view EXTREMELY blocked
-
Suggestion: Add an option on the character page to force first person view for your character. For anyone that has this on they get 3% more exp per tick.
-
So you mean xbowmen reloading would only see their own feet ?
I'm totally for this idea ! xD
Joke aside, the 1st person view at the moment is really too narrow to be used fulltime. And i don't think it can be changed.
And no for the +xp when using first person, i don't want to constantly change my view between combat and walking, poor keyboard.
-
this sounds awesome, if only there was more peripheral vision in this game
-
Only if TrackIR were enabled.

TrackIR would be sick for m&b. You could dodge headshots by moving your head lol!
-
Problem with first person view is that i's way to narrow to be realistic (if that's what people are craving these days). More "realistic" would be limit the tilde to 180 degrees, so what you could only look straight ahead and to the sides. Heh, even cooler would be if the head actually turn the way the player was looking (reloading a crossbow and looking left/right for example).

You must have one motherfucking stiff neck if you can't look behind you.

Silly troll, tricks are for kids.
Sho, sho!

That's like saying you consider it cheap for people to stab you in the back, it's apart of the game and isn't cheap at all lol.
-
The game ain't built to be played in first person. It looks bad, plain and simple!
At most an idea for a future wb, however with blocking dependant on mouseview, I hardly doubt it is doable without making everyone seasick.
-
I've also played FPV since day 1. I find it far better. 3rd person view always seems a little weird to play. I have no problems with it...and besides it actually makes more sense considering I'm a HA.
-
I've always been playing the game in First person mode, strangely, I get dizzy while I'm playing 3rd
and I lose the feeling of being a knight...
And no, I don't have horrible scores (quite good actualy 8-))
-
I was wrong to use the word cheap to describe third person view. Sorry.
Overpowered -- A feature that gives any player using it an un-natural advantage.
Cheap -- Using a rule or feature of a game in a way that wasn't intended by the developers in order to gain an advantage.
Cheating -- Breaking a rule or feature of a game in order to gain an advantage
I meant to use overpowered.
Using 3rd person is OP. :-)
-
M&B doesnt have an equivalent command to quake/halflife 'FOV'? To increase the field of vision by degrees. I remember playing the original quake with like nearly fisheye field of view.
-
I play in first person all the time, since I got used to it, but forcing it would nerf pretty much everyone else
