Title: Halfswording is it a good idea?
Post by: noble_zombie on March 04, 2012, 01:59:56 pm: The other day when i was playing my brother had mentioned something about halfswording using pole-arm skill, well that got me exited my char is a pure pole arm build but i like using 2Hswords. my character uses the poleaxe(so i attack vary slow) i was thinking of getting the heavy bastard sword and use it for speed when bad guys get to close. which leads me to my question for all of you
1. is this a good or bad idea. (just give me input :shock: )
2.are there any better ideas for a fast weapon with my pole arm build?

However I find halfswording very efficient with agi char (high ath compensate the lack of length) mainly because people starre at you with a WTF? in there eyes when you charge them.

Post by: Zerran on March 04, 2012, 10:04:31 pm: You could always do a 2H/Pole hybrid character. Run either with a 2H/Halfsword 2 hander, or carry a 2H for dueling situations and a longer polearm for group situations.

I find halfswording to be a pain in the ass to use for 1v1, but it's really nice when you get in a clusterfuck. polestab animation on a 2H is so hawt in really cramped quarters.

Bamboo spear or long awlpike with a Heavy Bastard sword is a great combo in Battle. If the Pike was still 2 slots I'd be using it with a HBS, unfortunately it got bumped to 3 slots so I have to go with a langes messer instead. :(

Post by: Zanze on March 08, 2012, 09:35:32 pm: It's doable. Remember that your swings will not do much damage. Stick to thrusting. Use high pierce damage 2h's.(German etc)
