this bothers me a long time now. Why you are being knocked down when a low PS xbower comes at you with his mace (for example) and he only glance (1-2 dmg done)? makes no sence, both in therms of gameplay and realism.
dunno if its possible of course.

AND because it is relevant, remove polestun from hits that almost-glance i.e do the lame sound of NON WELL HITTINGNESS because that's the only time it makes me rage, get glanced on by some polearm and then be stunned forever for their teammates to kill me????????????? injustice! yes

this of course. Non well hittingness should give no bonuses at all.

No, it has to be an attack that does some RAW damage. This damage is before the armor calc and even if everything is absorbed it can still lead to a knockdown afaik.

Huh, I've never had a hit that DIDN'T interrupt an enemy lead to a knockdown. I've never seen a hit whiff but have the person on the floor. I've seen plenty of really low damage hits knock people down.
If the code says so, the code says so.

Eh. Usually the cost of knocking people down is built into the weapon. The Warhammer was the height of hilarity when I was a 1H+shielder -- good damage + knockdown. But right next to it on the list is the Nordic Champion's Sword which is almost twice as long. Or the Long Espada Eslavona which is also almost twice as long and a bit faster (with a really nice pierce damage).
The Warhammer with no knockdown would be kinda useless. Few people use it as it is just because it's so short.
I imagine your REAL complaint is about the "Mace", in particular, aka the archer and xbow sidearm of choice. People don't, I think, pick it for the knockdown -- they pick it because it's the best one slot weapon in the game. 28 blunt! 98 speed! And that's AFTER they nerfed it. It used to be REALLY good.
It's probably still too good, really. I bet almost everyone who uses it would keep using it if you took away the knockdown. It probably is too powerful still for a 1-slot weapon (and a cheap one at that).

People take it because of the knockdown. Without it, is is worse than other 1-slot 2 handed (langes messer, same speed, much longer, decent cut damage, or fighting axe, bit slower, longer, decent cut damage and break shields, both are better than the mace if not for knockdown).
But the mace is still used cause you have that chance to get 2 or 3 hits in a row and kill a heavy opponent.

No, I take it for the Blunt damage to your plated face. Knockdown is a random occurence that doesn't really change things. If you are getting hit at all with my 1 WPF, your skillz aren't saving you anyhow. :P

Ofc I made this thread directly after described happened and needless to say that if I block all attacks in the first place knockdown wouldn't happen. I don't think this is a big issue at all, still its one of these drive-you-crazy moments when a fight goes awful (both missing and spinning around or similar) and somehow mace-wielder touches you with the tip of his weapon and thus decides the fight. No big deal, but annoying.
