Just noticed this
For battle it's 4.44% and for siege 2.79%. Both are the top two 2handers. Oh, and it's damage and not kills. Forgot about that.
Seems damage is being tracked. If that is the case then why is it not displayed on the scoreboard instead of the unrepresentative kills? I'd think this would do a great job at reducing killwhoring and giving a more representative view on who are the skilled players.
It's time to put all the WSE dev e-peen flinging to the test and see if they can do this, I bet they can. Question is, why don't you/they?

Damage dealt? You could still go for one-hiting peasants racking up damage, wouldn't make a difference. Amount of hits on enemy players sounds better. :P

Amount of hits? You could still get an agi warspear build and sideswing 20 times on every enemy, wouldn't make a difference.
How is that different from the trying to kill peasants for the kill we have now? Damage dealt is still more representative.
-
seeing as the reason you kill a peasant in 1 hit is because they have lo HP, it wouldn't show a whole lot if you went peasant hunting would it :P

Low armor. Always getting the max out of yoir swings. If this was implemented, just consider what I'm saying. 40-50 each peasant one-hit with no risk to yourself. High armored players lower damage because of armor, greater risk becaue they have better weapons, stats etc.
That type of scoreboard could also lie about the effectiveness of a player

only noobs attack poor peasants, real men aim for tincans & my old friendchers & gayvalry
-
I like this idea alot. Have it next to the kills and deaths or something. As an archer I get tons of hits and damage but not as many kills. It would be cool to see how much damage I'm doing.

I agree with displaying total damage done.
People slaughtering peasants for easy damage would be absolutely no different than today. What it would track is your typical 0/5 archer who actually did 1500 damage and just never managed a kill shot.
Tracking "hits" would work too I guess but I'd rather see "damage". I don't care how many times I hit people; I care how much damage I did to them.
-
Would like to see that too. I go for gayvalry as my prime target and kill quite a few horses but less riders. Would like to see how good/bad I really am...
Maybe it is possible to also display team hits? (hmm... I think I don't do me a favour with this )

There should really be 3 more categories on the scoreboard: score, damage, and assists.
The players on the list should sort by score, which is gained through kills, assists, and possibly cumulative damage. This would give players much more incentive to support other players instead of being killwhores.
-
An assist being an enemy you hit without killing him? Could use a certain amount of damage treshold or something.
-
keep the kills.
-
It should display raw damage dealed, and raw damage taken.
So the numbers are unmodified by armour and such ect ect.
That way you kill a peasant in 1 shot, or a plated guy in 6, you will obviously get more points for the plated guy kill.
-
Spot on! As an archer I dont get too many kills so it would be rewarding to see how much my playing affects teamplay. Also Damage to horses should be presented somehow... I think dropping couple of horses per round makes big difference. 8-)
-
Suggested a couple of times before, i thought this subject got forgotten because dmg couldnt be tracked. From Pauls post it seems it can, so i dont see a obstacle or a reason not to display dmg dealt in the scoreboard
-
I'd like the stats board to show assists in addition to kills and damage. More stats is generally more fun - though I'd prefer if the scoreboard were scaled according to assists rather than kills or damage. It just makes more sense.
-
It currently is:| Kills | Deaths |
It should be | Kills | Damage done to players | Damage done to Horses | Deaths |
Damage taken isn't representative. strength build plate guys will be out there getting wailed on before they die all the time, etc, etc. Only deaths are truly representative as is.
It'll be nice to see players with highest damage at top of the scoreboard instead of kills.
-
I'm still advocating just removing the scoreboard entirely. There's really no practical purpose for it.

Its generating fun for me. I like to see how i am doing.
And i´d love to see more statistics on it.
-
Yeah there's every reason for a scoreboard...but it does need better/more stats.
-
Personally I would like either really advanced statistics shown on scoreboard or complete removal of scoreboard, HP bars, weapon indicators and pretty much everything that suggests you're in game and not on real battlefield
-
Yeah removing of hp bars is a great thing if the engine cant handle to show your damage and you won´t feel the pain yourself because its a game...
-
i cannot +1 this enough

Those precious moments when you are on 33 kills 4 deaths. Priceless.
-
I'm for keeping the scoreboard, because not having it would be annoying for the ninja clans hood rank system :P
Otherwise I don't pay much attention to it.
-
Post damage dealt and kills. However, rank players on the scoreboard by damage dealt and not kdr. This would be awesome.

Say wut, you rank your members based on k/d? In that case I would be mighty fine ninja, I might not be good duelist but I know how to kill people from behind :D

*Insert well disguised bump here*

+10
At least.
-
been thinking this for awhile i would love to see maybe not damage points but damage % cause those lowly peasents will give y 100% as would a kil mean 1 but this way with people that take more hits ude know so i didnt just get the kill i actually did so much percent of his hp. hate armour crutches can never tell if i actually hurt them or if i do just enough to stagger them
-
I would suggest some kind of scaling taking into account armor worn (thats why i like the hits record), but should be like every teamhit /teamdamage counts as x3 (or x5 or whatever the devs consider adequate) for it to be a real measure of who actually hits properly, otherwise it would lead to even moar spam
