Lol. I've wrote a couple various stories as well on this General Discussion board. Check em out if you like. I would have done screenshots this time, but I was in the battle and I didn't want to just show off how fucking badass I am

Your stories have made me think it would be cool if there were some sort of CRPG wiki, that had wars and battles in it. Just like if you go to World war 2 on wikipedia you see abunch of battles and the factions involved an what not, same thing with a war in strat. But with mount and blade 2 coming out in the relativly near future it may be too late to bother.

Men of Hanun stop your dreaming
Can't you see their bodkins gleaming?
See their warrior pennants streaming
To this battlefield!
Men of Hanun stand ye steady
It cannot be ever said ye
For the battle were not ready
Stand and never yield
From the hills rebounding
Let this song be sounding
Summon all at Calradia's call
The mighty force surrounding
Men of Hanun on to glory
This will ever be your story
Keep these burning words before ye
Greenmen will not yield!

A bit exaggerated about the gear, green seemed to be even or better in that regard, but good read nonetheless.

We had a lot of issues, despite waiting 30 seconds to join. I had to leave twice because armor would not attach that I had selected, and for about 40% of the battle it was that way for a large portion of us. We were supposed to be equipping helmets and gloves and boots, but shit just wouldn't attach.

Lemmy, I was actually considering doing that. Probably instead of a Wiki consolidating all of the stories I've managed to write into one thread after this war ends or we get some downtime. I will also probably go into the battles I wasn't able to make it to or write about (most of the smaller scale ones) and try and work them in chronologically as they came about.

I had a couple bugs Mano, whenever I went to attach the gloves, helmets, and boots (all of which we had a bit of) it would say I had them on equipment screen, but when I'd spawn they wouldnt be there.

Happened twice, had to rejoin twice :/ Then it finally was okay.

I had the same issue my first two spawns but luckily it fixed itself after rejoining, despite waiting to join as well.

I cannot imagine that equipment bug screwing them over for the entire fight

Is there any other?

It didn't, it is just an excuse. An equipment bug doesn't cause this kind of result after a hour plus of fighting:

Knights Hospitaller
675 survivors
1564 of 2239 killed

CHAOS
423 survivors
1052 of 1475 killed

Nice story, I keep getting an equipment bug where I will change my horse, or change my weapon and it will still spawn with the old horse and old weapon.  I was unable to use the masterwork heavy lances because of this :(  We had 2 heavy lances, once I used them I was unable to switch to a light lance or mw heavy lance for almost 5 horses :(  And on another battle when we ran out of one type of horse, it wouldnt' let me switch to another type (and when I was using the only champ coursers and wanted to ride something else, it would still spawn me on the champ courser).

On a side note, you should write a tale about the epic village of Mazen and their peaceful non-armed monks who nearly repelled the invaders.

The difference between green and red, is that when battles are basically evenly matched and one side pulls out a win, one side flocks to the forums and beats their chest, the other quietly celebrates with comrades.  Enjoy your victory, it will be short lived.

Alas, as one of the few Green muslims, I fasted for what I believed to be my final days in Hanun.

Pork and beans may have saved the day though.  For it is not what entereth a man's mouth, but what leaveth that defiles him.

I think I came out of that battle with the moral victory. and the best kill to death ratio which of course only an archer could achieve.

Bad Tom, next verse better be made up  :D

We could always line up and swing our fists around, then record the teamspeak as we all chant the Haka.

From a commander's view it was quite successful as well: people for the most part were listening to commands, there was not too much unnecessary chatter going on, people were attentive to flanking maneuvers and the individual fighting groups helped each other when one threatened to get overrun. We reacted quick enough to prevent any major enemy force from gaining and holding ground on our periphery.

What could be improved is the falling back after a (counter) push. Some people got slaughtered quite unnecessarily - me included one or two times.

Oh and it was great fun - one of the most exciting battles I have had so far in Strat.

9/10 - would fight again  :D

Conservative risk is the art of the professional soldier, and discretion is ALWAYS the better part of valour.
