Title: Horses Healths
Post by: Ninja_Murphy on February 27, 2012, 06:58:18 pm
horses without armour health reduced, but horses with armour increased, that way its more realistic, and a courser can't run at full speed with two +2 javs in its head and one in its arse.

thank you

My champion courser fell down by 2 arrows.

Rouncey 1 shotted by arbalest.

Body armor says it all, no need to nerf weak horses, they are weak enough already. Play as CAV and see for yourself

My destrier got downed by 1 bar mace hit just this morning.

Cav is pretty fragile.  If a horse survives what you think should have killed it...rest assured it probably has only 1 hp left.

Two 31 p stabs to an arabian, the arabian lives. Nerf horse health.

Stopping a unarmored horse with a long spear in the head and its still alive? Nerf cav!

I'd say nerf archery instead

Anything but the "panzar" horses are rather fragile.  :D

Which is why I always try and steal them...

The problem is the head hitbox for the horse is too small. When you see a horse with 3 javelins in the head, it's really just 3 javelins in the body, but between the eyes on a horse is the body :P

Champion War horse, sometimes it survives a thousand slashes from melee, sometimes its dropped by a single archer arrow.

Cav, its just temperamental.

My horses are already made out of glass. Please don't make them out of paper in the future.

I Oneshot a cataphract a few days ago with a scythe at the beginning of a round, THEN twoshot a plated charger with said scythe.
Much anger in text form was emitted the following round (since they were too dead to type for me to hear it until then)

hitboxes are fucking wonky as shit is all. Health is fine.

I would tell you to aim for the legs but Katana is kinda short for that especially if you're trying to dehorse some heavy 1H cav (you'll either get bumped by their huge horse or get killed because their sword has more reach on horse than your Katana).

Health is okay, espacially with the lower, unarmored horses. One mistake and your horse is dead in most cases.
But like casimir said, sometimes your horse goes down after one arrow and sometimes not even hits from melee guys can bring it down.

Yeah. I wouldn't put much stock to Murphy's ramblings. 99% of what he says can easily be ignored at the best of times.

But I have to admit it does get mildly annoying when you score to solid hits on a horse and he doesn't die or stop.

Two 31 p stabs to an arabian, the arabian lives. Nerf horse health.

Health of average horse:

100hp

31p + 6PS (average +/- amount of PS) = 31p * 148% ~~ 46p

Say that horse was hit without any positive nor negative bonuses:

100hp - 2 * 46p = 100hp - 92 = 8 hp left.

Note, I COMPLETELY ignore armor damage reduction, speed bonus and other aspects of damage calculation.

:)

Sorry for double post, thought I was editing.
