Title: Retaining multipliers when your game crashes.
Post by: MrPink44 on February 27, 2012, 05:43:18 pm
Not sure if anyone has thought to suggest this but I occasionally have my game crash and there have been times when I would be in the middle of a great winning streak. Not sure if this has happened to anyone else but it's quite frustrating to game crash with a x5 and no real sign of losing it. So when you come back into game you have to work it back up again, which I have no real problem against other than just pure frustration. Is there any way to have the game system "recognize" your multi for a few mins after a game crash or something of the like? Like 3 mins after disconnecting from server be a time limit or something to be able to come back and at least retain the x5 till the end of round. Just a brainstorm any other suggestions?

I am sure they would consider it, if the game actually crashed that often for everyone. However, it seems most people try to fix their own problems before asking for changes to work around them.

It is a good thought, but how to disinguish between crash and normal exit (or alt-x/F4)? This way you could end game when you see you are loosing and rejoin with multi again.

Well if it remembered which team you are on it could still let you keep the multi as long as your team won, however if they lose you still lose the multi.

halflife mods have had basic functionally like this for over a decade.  cRPG needs to add some polish and user friendlyness

heck put a timelimit on it like once every 30mins or something

I have fixed my problems for the most part but sometimes these games just get unstable you never know when a crash could happen. Just thought it might be a nice thing since shit happens to everyone and losing the multi to a game crash is a huge kick in the teeth.
