Until I see major animation improvement it stays shit. And I've already seen that video, this is like 4th thread about that particular game.
And frankly the talk about perks for multiplayer sounds horrible. Obviously I'll reserve final judgement until I've seen reviews and decided to play it or not.
Indeed.
That "perk system" can make or break the game.
It's quite easy to predict which one's going to happen tbh.
Why the negativity. You've seen nothing solid from this game at all and its in pre-alpha stage. From what Ive read and saw so far it could be a very very good game. Yes, the work perk has associations with COD but that doesnt mean this will be anything like it at all. You could call all the CRPG skills 'perks' but that doesnt change anything except the title.
What im trying to say is why try and shit all over a game that could be just as awesome as warband, which we all love and have put many hours into. I for one am genuinely excited about this game and will probably have to buy a new PC just to play it.
I hope things like that will get sorted.
That looks like shit.This i can agree without hesitation.
If I'd decided whether or not to play Mount and Blade based on the quality of its combat animations during beta...
That looks like shit.
And that's different from Warband, how?Yeah what ManOfWar said. Holding attacks in warband makes no difference from not holding them.

if hold_time >= 1.1:

In reality 25% bonus damage for holding attacks between 0.5 - 0.6s
wrongWhoa! I can`t believe I never found out about this. I guess I was wrong.Code: [Select]if hold_time >= 1.1:
hold_bonus = 1.2
elif hold_time >= 0.6:
hold_bonus = (1.1 - hold_time) * 0.6 + 1.2
elif hold_time >= 0.5:

raw_damage = weapon_damage * (max(1.0, min(hold_bonus, 2.0)) * 0.5 + 0.5)
In reality 25% bonus damage for holding attacks between 0.5 - 0.6s
Gonna be pretty funny having warband players completely destroying any people new to the game mechanics at release.

wrongfrom the formula it's 50% bonus between 0.5 to 0.6 seconds decresing to 20% and not lowering anymore from 0.6 to 1.1 secCode: [Select]if hold_time >= 1.1:
hold_bonus = 1.2
elif hold_time >= 0.6:
hold_bonus = (1.1 - hold_time) * 0.6 + 1.2
elif hold_time >= 0.5:

In reality 25% bonus damage for holding attacks between 0.5 - 0.6s
raw_damage = weapon_damage * (clamp(hold_bonus, 1.0, 2.0) * 0.5 + 0.5)you're right it's totally my fault, I didn't see that at all
You forgot this code line that follow main formula: 1.5*0.5+0.5 = 1.25
Gonna be pretty funny having warband players completely destroying any people new to the game mechanics at release.
I think I'll buy this even if it's pretty bad, just to hear the lamentations of their women.
dont know if its already here.
long gameplay video:
http://www.gamespot.com/events/gdc-2012/video.html?sid=6365126&mode=embedded
not bad for pre-alpha, but not impressed either.
Net code look really bad with all people wrapping around each other, combat slow paced and sluggish.
Hope it will be a lot better and still look forward, but its nothing to worry about for taleworlds and M&B2.
I wonder why they release such a video."hey look how shite our game looks, but remember its only pre-Alpha!"
carebear game, all the hello kitty fans from crpg will play it, crpg will finally get rid of meow
(click to show/hide)
I kinda like the possibility on aiding an ally being executed saving his life, this promotes teamwork imo.
The problem is that from what I heard hp regens while not fighting and this kinda suck else it would be great.
Yeah we totally should get rid of normal and considerate people like Meow, that will certainly make this community better :rolleyes:
