Title: Abusing Battalion Flags
Post by: JihadistMexican on February 26, 2012, 07:35:46 pm
I was in battle recently on my archer alt, and members of CHAOS were using the Battalion Banner to block my shots when I got close. They also used it when I got into melee so I could not see where my target was.  I don't know if this has been addressed before or if this is against the rules.  I would like to see banners being used for their real purpose, not in this underhanded way.

Creative!

(of course this goes under the common sense rule, or hell just regular ol' griefing)

Yes, but a very poor way to win a round. Especially with your clan behind your back against 1 archer  :?

Very clever and should be allowed to snake your way up to archers....
Part of the game so keep it.

Ouch. Dunno how annoying it is since I've never seen this done, but I'll try bringing the topic up next time I get on teamspeak. Although I don't know who specifically were there.

It's not part of the game at all. This sort of lameness isnt acceptable.

Never, but if you shoot in first person they can be placed in front of you to obstruct your view and make it harder to shoot at dudes.

Creative!

(of course this goes under the common sense rule, or hell just regular ol' griefing)

Do not come crying "it's not prohibited in the rules" if you invent a new creative way to be an idiot and get punished.

All said.
Hit us with screens and we'll do something about it.

What time, specifically, did this happen around?

To my knowledge we haven't been using battalion flags at all on a regular basis, but if what you say is true, I must make it stop.

Its a classic dick move. I've done it many times. Spaming F1 into a groupd of people fighting. Always ammusing.

I've never seen it done on NA...not saying it doesn't happen, but never seen it myself.

Consider this problem resolved before it becomes a problem.

Well CHAOS people, Jar is only person I can 100% say ( by my word ) who did it, since he was coming straight at me.  There were other CHAOS, I don't remember names but there were 2-3 people using the flags. It was in NA Community around 10-1 AM PST.  The first time Jar spammed it I couldn't get a screenshot till I figured out they were doing it on purpose.  Can't really say I have any proof of it except my word.  I doubt you need my word because who would ever come up with this kind of story to get someone punished  :?

( unless I'm an evil genius  )

EDIT: The few shots I do have of it just shows multiple flags around me, near me etc. Not really helpful. If anything can be done, just remove the other team from seeing the flags or remove them from every server except Strat. servers.

CHAOS trying to use flags to block my view ( There were 2 guys trying to attack me through the bush )

Obvious flag block here.

Not trying to get any banned or anything, just want CHAOS leaders to do what they want with their members and hopefully stop this from being abuse.

EDIT: lemme get those screens working!

On a side note, get a new computer.... man those graphics I used to have them and I cringe now everytime I see DirectX 7
And those screen show nothing besides people using the flag to guide people in a direction.

I was there, saw one member of Chaos doing it and told him to stop. Has happened only once and only for one round to my knowledge and never thereafter.

Thank you for bringing the issue to our attention, I am sure it is solved.

I once saw it as my mission to spam F1 in front of certain people until there would be a specific rule forbidding flag griefing. Sadly I grew bored quickly. The flags are pretty small and don't obstruct your view that much.

Flags need a buff, in order to nerf cav.

Horses (and only horses) should be unable to pass through these flags. Or better yet, the flags should explode when a horse touches them.
