Bring back LoC? but Ricky got banned!
Also I agree great lance needs buffs. Maybe not length, but something couch related.

I change my mind, screw length this man knows what's up.

Like I said in another thread to buff the couch only lances you have to limit or remove couching from the other spears that can thrust.
-
Heavy lance thrust length > great lance couch range
Not hard to see which one is better.

Heavy lance thrust length > great lance couch range
Not hard to see which one is better.
Not hard to see which one is cheaper too. I'm a cheapskate :D
Also you get 10+ to cool by using it :D

how about giving it blocking so it might be useful to guys without shields. Say you are a 2h cav and try and use TGL you can't cancel a couch like you can when you have a shield. Not being able to cancel leads to TKs and other bad shit.

I like.

Throwing great lance, Over 9000 Pierce damage y/y?

Not many people can chamber a couch consistently, most people can hold downblock without much trouble. I much more often find myself having to couch a footman than being locked in an unavoidable joust with a heavy lancer.
Also agree though that it's a bit daft to include pikes with no cavalry counter. A skilled pikeman could down LoC every time, yet pikes remain and LoC is gone.

let me couch while running on the ground with enough athletics

If you hit x again it should cancel out the couch...

Great lance is my go too. Especially since I have no polearm wpf, it instantly kills just bout anything. also run into situations where I got hit by an enemy lance and die, but the couch is on Target and kills the other guy due to momentum? Buff its length so its same distance as heavy lance poke. That way on a straight joust its a crap shoot instead of hl always win or on freak occasions ties. It would certainly be more entertaining and make gl more applicable in cav fights.
Looming decreases time between couches and time it takes to lower it would be awesome.
Seems fair since couch is interrupted by:
Rider getting hit
Horse going up hill
Terrain glitches
Horse rearing
Blocking
Horse decelleration( dont make tight turns!)
And blocking on coming attacks is interrupted by:
Succesful couch cool down
And couch does no damage when:
Enemy is moving away from you at a sufficient speed relative to your speed
Hits a sheild

I don't know if heavy lance thrust out reaches great lance couch. I think the angle of attack comes into play here...if you are both completely straight on (like a joust) I'm pretty sure the great lance couch is longer, but most heavy lance thrusters know how to put their horse in a position to get the best reach while keeping their horse as far away from harm as possible.
Thrusting with a polearm doesn't add any length to the reach, so that's why I think it's shenanigans. The only way this is possible is if you couch a lance it makes it shorter than the normal reach...that would be hard to test (at least with the normal melee reach tests).

The 2h polearm thrust doesn't give reach. The 1h polearm thrust gives +50...

Sorry my bad
Still needs to be at the end of the thrust animation...which if timed correctly (should) out reach the great lance. I'm ok with that.

NP. Just wanted to correct the mistake :P

Timing is not difficult since the stab can be manuevered for full damage even if your off on your target a little. Couching you must position in near perfect to make the connection. Even then, the HL usually outranges. Bit unfair no?
-
Yeah how many more buff TGL threads do we need to make before we get a buff?
Also my new build survives couches... 24str 8IF and between 50-69 armour depending on my mood. I took one to the head and walked away with 1% health, my mind boggled.
-
anti infantry id say its pretty even....easy to dogde and pikes outrange it by a lot. But, against other cav it is fairly difficult to make it viable.
