How is not giving gold as well punishment? People who really enjoy playing their alts for the sake of playing them aren't going to sacrifice anyhow.

While it would be great to get the gold from your alts through the sacrifice feature, the reason you don't is not hard to fathom. It's to prevent large amounts of gold coming into the cRPG economy which would cause inflation of heirloom prices.

He probably never bothered to remove gold exploiters earned on their "no upkeep" alts.

oh well, I asked chadz about this like 5 minutes after the sacrifize-option was implemented, and he said no for a reason. Stop asking things again and again, it wont help. Believe me.
maybe he should post his design theory instead on his forums or website instead of private messages or IRC

It was a normal forum post :)

...and devs shouldn't change the sacrifice because I already used the option on my gen7 alt with 600k on him (after a dev told me gold transfer aint happening).
and to those same old f****ing idiots who say "why do you need gold from alt, u enjoy playing them and that should be your reward" i say this:
Main and alt char thing was implemented WAAAAAAY before market, so people might choose those chars for main that they thought would be best for strat. They didnt know that theyll be able to trade their looms and therefore making changing build/orientation of a certain char a viable option. it think any normal person can get to certain conclusions from this.
