Hi,i am lvl 30 and when i reach lvl 31 i want to retire and loom some 1h weapon. So what do you suggest to loom?
i like picks but i am concerned about mulers, and to kill them i need to go very close to them so i dont like that idea. Is nordic champ sword worth looming?
-
ok if you dont want to share secrets with everyone pm me. :)

Haven't played too much with 1H, but I've quite liked the Military Pick, Military Cleaver, Fighting Pick, and Italian Sword. (Langes Messer is also phenomenal, though mostly for its 2H capabilities.)
-
If you have enough strength I'd suggest the Elite Scimitar (only has cut damage, no pierce like a lot of swords). But now that I look at the retirement progression it doesn't look so good:

My two favorite 1h weapons that I alternate between are the knightly arming sword, and the 1handed broad battle axe. Both look like they have nice loom progression, the battle axe goes from 35 cut to 38 cut, no clue what the pierce damage does for it tho:

I would loom the knightly arming sword over a Nordic champion sword. You get three more pierce at the cost of one less cut.
If you're interested in a faster weapon, then the Italian sword has a fantastic mix of stats.
If you don't like stabbing, then the elite scimitar, military cleaver, and niuweidao are all great choices.
-
Military pick is excellent choice too. Great can opener, good damage, fast, low cost and better range than most of the other pierce/blunt 1handers
-
I can suggest the military hammer.
It's blunt and is longer than most other pierce/blunt one handed weapons.
-
Sell the loompoint and buy your favorite weapon +1... normally a much better deal than to loom by yourself.
Loom your favorite weapon... elite scimitar, long espada eslavona, steel pick, knightly arming, ... all good weapons.
It depends on your build, armor, playstyle, environment (narrow, open)
Just test the different weapons.

I like to play offensive,or as support for teammates. I would rather buy/loom long arming sword than knightly because only diference is -1 cut dmg,and long arming sword is cheaper.
-
Like Saul Canner said, the Knightly arming sword is one of the best all around 1 handers and never really goes out of fashion in case you ever want to sell. There is one on the market for 450k at the minute so sell your loompoint for 550-600k and buy that to make a little profit!

With 100-150k bankroll the extra cost of the Knightly Arming Sword wont even make a dent in that. I spent last gen as a med-heavy armour 1h cav with a KAS and a Destrier (1600 repair each time) and I only lost around 40k over the whole gen.
-
i would buy it but i cant find knightly arming sword. so i think of alterative to buy this long arming sword. I have now 860k gold, and i am gen 2 and lvl 30. so i planed to buy sword now,and then loom it when i retire, and i will still have 400k gold.

Im using a mw long arming sword kinda like it its cheap its long is fast an have decent overall dmg its a good sword.
If your pure inf 1h then maybe loom a italian sword if your 1h cav loom a arab cav sword
the long arming sword is good for both roles so i would use that if i where you.

this is stats for
Masterwork Long Arming Sword
weapon length: 102
weight: 1.2
difficulty: 13
speed rating: 98
weapon length: 102
thrust damage: 26 pierce
swing damage: 33 cut
slots: 1
same as KAS,only difference is that you have -1 cut,and it is cheaper.

well i was 2h,but this new patch increased speed of fighting, and i can't keep up. Can't block 70% of hits. I am good with mauls, but that is easy mode. No skill. So i want to be 1h,footman because i suck also as cav.

i bought tempered long arming sword. ty everyone for helping me. :)
-
unless you've got 8 PS though, most tincans kinda laugh at swords
-
To the OP:
Loom what you like or are used to using, never loom something that you have never tried before.
-
Yup, it's really all about finding out what kind of style fits you best. I tried out a lot of weapons before finally deciding. If you like to stay in the outer boundary of an enemy's range and rely heavily on movement, then choose a long weapon. If you're good at avoiding kicks and blocking and not afraid to go into their range, then chose a shorter but faster weapon and try get in double attacks.

shield,1h weapon and mallet on back for tincans. or i will have pick as side weapon
-
If you do not like your loomed weapon, you can always change it with an other loomed weapon at market.
If you like fast and short weapons, I suggest you to try italian falchion.
