Not much work in progress but I think the idea of implementing a prison system within Strategus may be entertaining with added depth. It would obviously have to be tempered with balance and fun so not to act as a deterrent from playing but at the same time it can add to the economy, semi-realism and fun factor. Some bullets I'd like to see in the system if considered.
- Prison lasts 48 hours(maybe 72), during that time the player can not engage in strategus battles nor move around the map. After 48 hour period player is free and placed randomly on the strategus map
- When a battle is concluded the loosing players have a percent chance of being captured.
- Perhaps a strategus stat can be implemented to lessen this percent chance
- If captured ransom can be payed by either themselves or another leader.
- If unable to pay captured leaders have option to "break out" of capture, possibly some kinda minigame can be placed here but for simple sake a percent chance.
- Other leaders have the ability to attempt a break out of prison or from a leaders capture via random chance. (this is not a battle)
- Strategus stat can increase this chance to break people out of capture or prison.
- Prisons can be built which make it more difficult for escape.
- Prisoners can be forced to work for free of charge
- Prisoners can be sold off to anyone either for freedom or for forced labor
Well thats all I could think up atm. As with any idea there are pros and cons please share your opinions or ideas below. Thanks for the comments and criticism.

I don't actually play Strategus, although I clicked the link and can't undo it >_>
I will say: The thought of having one's character locked up for any length of time would suck.... although trying to spring your troops to replenish your ranks sounds lots of fun! :mrgreen: Of course, the enemy would need reason to lock up prisoners instead of just killing them. I don't know if you can recruit prisoners in Strategus like you can in Native.

When Strategus launches players that own fiefs will set the payment (per hour)of jobs being done within that fief. The incentive to capturing leaders is forced labor, a means by which jobs can be done without having to pay them. Killing players leader would not be an option available if this prison system was in place.

+1, would be nice to have prison break battles as well. Of course, that would take a new game mode.
