Thanks to Meow and the SB clan my thick barbutte was returned. A big thank you to both meow and SB for returning it! If people want to keep this post for the suggestions on how improve trade with passwords I can keep it but I can delete it too. Thanks again to meow and SB clan!
-
you should have let him offer stones for your barbutte, then you know he gets the item.
-
you should have let him offer stones for your barbutte, then you know he gets the item.
This...
OBVIOUSLY people will buy stuff from the market if it is on there for very very cheap.
Always have the person who receives the item offer stones for it.
As this is 100% player fault I can not just go ahead and return it to you.
I will PM the dude and ask him to be nice.
I really hope you did not spam or threaten him so far, that pisses most people off.
-
SB_Locked , Do not know this person. We made a deal. This person took the opportunity to find and purchase the item before me.
-
It would only be there for mere seconds and it has clear description in it. How can you consider stones for a +1 heirloom a fair trade it even says where and who the trade is for and that person is also on the market, that is not just 100% my fault it makes me sick that he sells it again immediately for 400.000. That is blackmail someone into buying own barbutte back. THe offer is of the market now for 15 minutes and he has not replied to me so he made 400.000 gold by selling the barbutte I had to work weeks for it makes me sick
-
Sorry for rage Meow I appreciate your help but this it just makes me sick
-
Don't fire off any insulting messages to him. See if he will end up giving it back (wait a day or so), or maybe try contacting leaders/members of his clan: http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,13505.msg189758.html#msg189758 . They might not want to keep someone who pulls a dick move like that (yes the op made a mistake, but its still a dick move to keep the item)
-
Thank you and no I did not send him insulting message I am not insulting guy
-
Thank you and no I did not send him insulting message I am not insulting guy
Saying how he "Stole" it even though it was a totally legitimate purchase and how this makes you sick sounds pretty insulting to me.
-
It is a stones for a +1 heirloom that is worth 100.000s and was specifically noted to be for someone else how is that a legitimate trade. He sells it again for 400.000 so he knows its not worth stones.
I didnt send him any insulting messages the first message was just a minute later asking if he is Zapenat because i thought it was strange that his name was so different, than I hear from zapenat that its not him and I askto give it plz back because its for heirloom purchase with the only response being it being on the market for 400.000. I only make this post after all of this.
-

It is legitimate because you offered a +1 for stones. He gave you stones, so he gets the +1.
That's really all there is to it.

He is obviously new to the market and pissed he lost his heirloom.
I am pretty sure by now he got that it was his fault but that does not change that the dude who insta resold it is a douche bag.
Since the item was actually sold to someone else, in this case someone who is not all about virtual gold, odds are he will be up to revert this whole thing, just gonna wait for Locked's reply if he is cool with it.

"Legal" or "legitimate" doesn't always = moral or justifiable. The poor, poor leech, how dare we insult him for being a worthless vampire draining money and time from others. Let's all admire him for being a captain of LOLOLOL "industry" instead, aka a thieving bastard in the right place at the right time.
I might be jumping the gun since I have no idea if he's going to make good on his douchebaggery yet.

Didn't TurmoilTom once screw Dezi over really hard in a similar fashion? trolo

Nice memory.

Personally, I don't find douchebaggery or morality an issue here. It's just a video game, after all.
-
Well he sure is one of those market sharks so yeah, he most likely screwed over a lot of people.
Sadly i can not ban for it if the victim fails =(
Also Tom, why not just be cool and not ruin other players fun then? It's just a game after all...
Really hope you get screwed over at some point.
-
You should "confiscate the evidence", mate.
For further investigation of the event.

If they need heirlooms to have fun then why did they play long enough to get one?
That being said I don't need heirlooms to have fun. This mod's more than fun enough without them. If I ever get screwed over I'll know full well it was my own fault and that it's no big deal.
I said it, and you said it. It's just a game.
EDIT: Maybe it's about time we get back on track? As much as I love talking about myself this thread's not about me.
-
You are right, it's mainly about people with a crappy attitude towards the community.
Totally include you in that group though.
-
Maybe it isn't really against the rules, yet it is a dickmove to ruin somebodys fun.
When it is obvious that the trade isn't for you; then don't click.
I hope this douchebaggery strikes back.

You'd make a great politician.
It's not worth ruining someones day over something like this.

Does this mean you bought it back?
Sorry this happened to you man. Next time have your trading partner set up the trade so this doesn't happen. Sorry dude. Hope this gets settled but that's up to him to do it. Mods can't force him to not be a douchebag. Like it or not Tom's right, it was your fault. Not saying that to be mean, just saying it because the mods can't help you because of that.
-
First time I'm doing this, but I will give 100k to the op. pm me what you offered and I'll trade it when I get home. I know it's 1/4th of the of the amount but I'm trying to help cause I feel sad that this still happens.
-
SB_Locked just said on EU1 that he sold it already
Haven't people been banned for stuff like this before? Sure I read similar threads a while back. Mods/devs shouldn't have to babysit the market but surely you can invoke the "don't be a dick" rule (there to cover things that don't necessarily fall under a specific rule) and give some kind of punishment? Specifically, delete his gold/gear :D
-
Well as much as i would like *wink wink at the overlords*
I can only punish people for actual scamming.
As in telling people they will heirloom something and then keeping the item and stuff like that.
I knew he sold it, I also know who got it and am pretty positive that he will return it if asked.
Locked just needs to agree on giving the 400k back he sold it for, then we can reverse all this.
On the other hand we have players like Xol and a lot of the_Grey guys (yes actually most of them) who buy that stuff off the market and then instantly return it.
That's what i want...
Everyone else can go fuck off
Totally my opinion

Well if we're passing the hat around I'll also throw the guy 100k as well, namo. If you PM what your trade is and your in game name, leviatan, I'll help you out as well (I prefer stones, a WORLD OF STONES).

Devs would have to delete their own characters, which would make them sad, which definitly does not encourage them to do that.
-
my opinon if you found obvious error in loom (like 10k for x3...)
buy it (so no real ''scammer'' will take those)
enjoy it for a moment (loom are always funny)
return when asked ('cause you are not a big baddie)
feel like the good guy! ('cause you are!)
edit: because my filthy hands don't like keyboard
-
Why not introduce passwords to the marketplace for this kind of transactions? So only people who have the password could make the purchase. That would prevent scamming totally and devs wouldn't have to deal with this anymore.

Good idea.
-
Or instead, just make us able to do direct trading, for example sending an offer together with a personal messenge, so only the receiver of the message can accept the trade.
That would make sense.

Reminds me of Steam trading, another good idea.
Did you guys get some creativity pills today?
-
It makes me sick seeing people do shit like this, sorry for your loss

If Creativity pills equal weed, yes.

That'd be the best method. Passwording something would work too but I would prefer this method. Who bought the loom from locked?

SB official answer: http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,13505.msg376639.html#msg376639
P.S. I'm sad to see some of you (i wont say names) so hurry in hanging up labels on innocent people, and even use your authorities to blackmail him. This is really unkind move and i know you can do better.
-
so hurry in hanging up labels on innocent people, and even use your authorities to blackmail him. This is really unkind move and i know you can do better.
Glad it is sorted, but really who is innocent? He is acting dumb making out he thinks its OK to accept that offer (stones for +1 helmet), and he only had exactly 400k gold and spent 50k so now can only give back 350? He can type English btw so I guess he can read it (I have screenie of him saying he sold it on the server)
Anyway yea, good job backing a guy like that and making excuses just because he's in your clan , but still at least it is resolved now
This is just how it looks to me btw, none of my business ofc I hope you get it sorted
-
If by black mailing him you mean telling him that he can not multiaccount then yeah... blackmail.
Since these two are my PMs to him:
Helmet
Hey man, as you do not have a forum account i will PM you from here.
This dude: http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,25952
Is really sad that you bought his helmet for super cheap as he intended to give it to someone else to heirloom it.
Please be nice and return it to him.
Best way would be clicking the blue banner next to the Battle button and register on the forum, then answer in the thread.
Would be awesome, appreciate fair players :)
Have fun!
In between he answered "I SOLD IT!"
Re: Helmet
Well, are you cool with us reverting those trades?
Also check the PM on your other account...
That PM on the other account was me telling him that he can not use two accounts and was completely unrelated to the case.
Just happened that I saw him multiaccounting while investigating the transaction the thread is about.
So get your facts right before you call someone out for abusing his position.
As soon as i get his answer to the second PM I will contact the buyer and get this sorted out.
-
On the other hand we have players like Xol and a lot of the_Grey guys (yes actually most of them) who buy that stuff off the market and then instantly return it.
Actually this is something everyone should probably do, instantly returning it and giving an advice, so the item doesnt get "scammed" by someone.
-

I am in favor of this.
-
Hey guys its me ricky . i recently got banned for exploiting some crpg xp. Im srry :D.
Well if i ever get unbanned my first good deed will to give this man 350k gold :D I have never scammed anyone, a matter of fact i have saved many peoples hierlooms. well if i get unbanned my first deed will to give u 350k
-
I had just posted on SB page for stones for 250.000 but It might be better to wait for message from Meow and other guy. I do not mind losing some money as it is stupid mistake from me too. If my barbutte is returned I could give some money to SB and his buyer? I just want my barbutte back and lose some money is not bad.
-
Well, the player who bought it instantly agreed on returning it so I now got it on my Scam Deposit.
If you put up Stones or 1 Gold for it I will accept that trade.
The rest I will handle since that player still needs his 400k back and Locked does not seem too interested in returning it so far.
-
It makes me sick seeing people do shit like this, sorry for your loss
pfffffff
-
He knows no English yet he manages to set up a character and everything on the c-rpg site which is English only??
-
Ok thank you very much for taking time and effort to sort this out meow. I will put it on the market, if the buyer does not get money I want to give him some money and thanks. Also thank you to all players that offered help, I wont need any if the barbutte is back but I was very moved by the replies of persons. Crpg is mainly very good community! Thank you again Meow
-
Trade done.
I already transferred 300k from that Deposit char to the buyer who btw. is Dalhi and he was fine with only getting 300k for now cause I did not have more available.
Now this is mostly between SB_Locked and me.
If people feel like it, gather a 100k and give that to Dalhi since Locked does only have 300k himself.
-
I will pay the 100.000 as it was my mistake and I do have 100.000 left :D
-
Wait for Dalhi to put up a trade for 100k, do not request Stones for 100k
-
Yes a lesson hard learned haha. His trade name is also dalhi?
-
Is done :D
-
I will contact you when/if i get the money back from Locked.
-
He knows no English yet he manages to set up a character and everything on the c-rpg site which is English only??
First - reading single words and phrases much easier than an arbitrary complex text such as you can see here. Second - there is large russian community, with manuals and guides, at last he can always ask for help in TS thats why the site is not a problem. Another thing is forum and your PM's. So I really doubt he can fully understand what you saying or make an answer. Only in case if he will ask me to help him with that.
I'm sorry Meow if I offended you, I had not seen the full picture, only your short PM to me. And how would it look to you, whether you're in my shoes. I'm glad I'm wrong.
Still strongly doubt he answer your PM's.
Anyway SB clan can provide full money compensation (400k) as soon as SB_Locked will show up and meet me in TS.
UPD. We are ready to compensate. Leviatan please make an offer on marketplace with offered stones and requested 400 000 gold.
-
Offer is up on a char called ScamDepositAndStuff
It's stones for 400k.
I'll give the 100k to leviatan then so you guys don't have more work with it.
Thanks
-
Sorry, but i will send money only to Levi or any he will said.
Also you should apologise for calling Locked a scammer, don't you?
-
Where did i call him a scammer again?
Also I already payed 300k to Dalhi so obviously that 300k go to the scam account from which i payed him.
If you are unsure of what you are saying or think you might be misunderstanding stuff i write, you might wanna take this to PM instead.
EDIT: Just to clarify that ScamDepositAndStuff character it the character that is used to collect all money and heirlooms that got lost over time. That char is never used to play with nor doing anything else except for giving stuff back to people or like in this case, fasten transactions by returning money to someone so he does not have to wait to get it back.
-
Where did i call him a scammer again?
that 300k go to the scam account from which i payed him.
-
Read above, just edited it.
That "scam" account is the deposit char which already payed 300k to Dalhi who returned the Barbutte to Leviatan.
Leviatan then gave the missing 100k to Dalhi.
Now Leviatan gets 100k from you and my "ScamDepositAndStuff" char gets the 300k and everything is fine again.
You can also give my scam account the 400k and I will handle the transaction with Leviatan so you do not need to to anything further.
Up to you.

I don't know how much players would appreciate/accept this, but how about 24h time until the items get transferred actually?
As soon as a deal is accepted, both items/money get removed, but it needs 24h until the items actually arrive at the other player. Within this time both players can cancel the deal, and once one of them decides to do so the deal is being reverted immediately. Perhaps you can make the termination cost money (a percentage of the item value?) for the player who cancelled the deal, transferring it to the other player, to compensate a bit for the lost time.
Players shouldn't be able to skip this time, or you would have this problem again, because in the moment they accept the deal they believe it is right, and they will confirm any question, if they REALLY want to make the deal or not. Just let them wait 24h, it shouldn't hurt them too much.
-
@Joker86
While the idea is good, the suggested amount of time is a bit too much. Toning it down, and it could be a nice addition.
-

I think it should be 24h, so that both players have a chance to get information or feedback from others about their deal, and to have the time to sleep once over it. I know this phrase is used a lot, but in my experience going to bed and waking up the next morning often changes things and points of view radically.
-
I'm for everything that makes it less likely for people to screw up on the market
Not sure I like the direct transaction idea someone else brought up.
Rather the n hour timer till the trade is completed.
-
that solution would cripple market traders. we often do multiple trades of the same item tree in less time.
-
that solution would cripple market traders. we often do multiple trades of the same item tree in less time.
I don't know if market trading is such an important part of the game that the comfort of "professional" market traders would go over the interest of the entire player base to (almost, you can never be 100% sure) only make deals they really WANT to make. (Never mind if they are conscious about it or not ) :?
-
I sold a mw awlpike for 100k gold
-
Yeah, and then the dude gave you 600k gold later.
Also someone who returns items if you are nice to him and 7days ago so...
Yeah.
Guess you figured it out.
-
Go Mew!
wut? You saying this like it is meow solved the problem, not me
-

Yep, i don't see his part of solution. Can you show me?
