Title: Norse Horde: Operation: Thunderhorse (Fri 11:19am eastern)
Post by: Slamz on February 09, 2012, 07:48:00 pm
After the dastardly, unprovoked sneak attack by Mercs on the defenseless village of Ambean, several unarmed NH members were ejected from the village and set upon by the cowardly jackals of the so-called Holy Roman Empire.  These lowly hangers-on pillaged a number of NH supplies and tried to sneak away with them to sell them in Mechin.

I have ridden down their courier.  No doubt they are receiving reinforcements even as we speak and it will be a thousand of them versus my small raiding party but I think it's important that nobody gets away with Norse Horde goods for free.  We will strike, and strike again, for all that awaits us is victory or Valhalla!

This video represents a rough timeline of events:

There will again be a performance based payout for all hired mercs.  Last time I did 10 strat gold per kill (highest payout: 470 gold to Cooties).  Not sure what I'll do this time but there will be some payment.

In the event we fail, I invite other brigands to position themselves in the forests around Mechin.  There may well be a bounty for any defeat of an HRE force (which at least one NH gets to witness), and that is the direction they were headed with the goods.

- Battle duration: 31m24s
- Army size: 1298 vs 2400
- Battle result: 610 vs 1108
- Winner: Attacker

Defenseless? alright...

You get ejected when the tax rate changes. You could rejoin I had no problem with that.

Speaking of Dethklok http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZX62imOapU much better....

We had troops but very few weapons.  Honestly I didn't think anyone cared enough to attack Ambean.  Regardless, it was an unprovoked attack and there was no reason for HRE to set upon our members, especially after one of the HRE people sent me a nice letter explaining that they didn't really want to attack but were just providing roster support for their allies.  Upon questioning him about his subsequent attacks upon my people, I received no reply.  Clearly, they are backstabbers, not to be trusted, and Norse Horde declares war, eternal war and suffering to all!

Or until we get reparations.

Or until we run out of money.

(We have a lot of money.)

First of all, I already ran off with the bulk of your goods, dont get all smug because you caught one of us. You were too late and you left your own clanmembers in the cold outside Ambean with 0 troops and 100 crates. You can be glad you changed your mind about loading all 200 crates on yourself. So you divided your goods. 100 on 0 troops, unarmed; 50 on 49 troops, armed. If you even took the time to actually do a roster for your last fight (believe me, plenty of people that would roster against HRE) things could've been different, but you didnt show up for a fight that you might have won.

Secondly, i sent that letter, not to you, but to Huseby; cuz he was a HRE recruit in the far past and i liked his style. You didnt ask for any further information, you liar! And yes we rostered against you because the Merc are our allies, thats how it goes. Do you think the Europeans were eager to invade Afghanistan? Ofc not, but they did to support their ally, USA. BAckstabbers?hahaha, HRE is one of the only clans that allways honour their deals. what deal did we have with you? Thats right, NONE. As for your "caravans", opportunity arose and we took it. UMADBRO?

Thirdly, sure declare war on us, wtf do we care. At your best you are an annoying itch on the side of my ass

UMADBRO?

Let all HRE members and allies feel the shame of leadership that uses memes from years ago!  Behold the loss of face brought upon you by essentially being clanned up with your out-of-touch dad, who even now is trying to insert his favorite Bee Gees cassette into his DVD drive.

Thanks to all who showed up!  We have defeated the thieves and avenged our dead.

Payment system is as follows:

5 gold * kills^2 / deaths

That puts Wojtek_ATS as the highest paid with 15 kills and 5 deaths for 225 gold.
Dan_Cheats second place with 13 kills and 5 deaths for 169 gold.
Warkittenz third place with 13 kills and 7 deaths for 121 gold.

No guarantee I will use this payment system for future fights!  (I'll have to figure how what to do about some potential archer going 50:2 which under this formula would pay 6,250 gold...  need some kind of logarithmic curve maybe...  But I do like that 5:1 pays better than 10:5)

What about X gold * (kills-deaths)?

because all that does is reward cowards that dont go out and fight.  they go 12-3 and then hide in village the rest of the match

Hmmm, good point. But then again, most golds dependant on kills and deaths, will do that. Personally I try to take note of people who follows orders, support teammates and that sort of stuff. Kinda difficult in big fights, but works in the smaller engagements.
