Seen. Not impressed. I found original mount & blade because I was looking for mod for oblivion that would allow mounted combat and more realistic archery. The makers had made comment that it cant be done. On their forums someone called them out as liars and pointed out that M&B did it and that was done by one guy. If this doesn't have mounted combat and realistic archery then I'm gonna skip this.

They are not liars. Mounted combat is literally impossible with the engine used for Oblvion.

Didn't they make the engine?

Also not too impressed. Granted, Oblivion was the first TES game I played, but it left me underwhelmed. The game seemed very repetitive after a couple of hours, and Skyrim doesn't seem to bring much more to the table than better graphics.
That seems to be a problem of many RPGs of the newer generation, though.

Morrowind was brilliant. I had like one huge house full of different potions I had made. Also made pretty much endless amount of money with those. :D

What about the deadly reflex mod that adds mounted combat? I've never actually tried it, but it's pretty high in the top 100 of tesnexus.

This is barely a gameplay trailer. More of a cinematic.

I'm pretty sure the scenes where the guy runs in 1st person view and that town with villagers, etc. is from game itself  :)

I will get the game for sure. Just hope my 5770 will run it

Oblivion was seriously disappointing compared to Morrowind, I hope they don't make the same mistakes again. Same goes for Mass Effect, 1 was good 2 was an utter crap. I'm afraid 3rd one will be a bad copy of Gears Of War. Oblivion was full of bugs, boring game play, shit scenario etc. It was just an eye candy nothing else. They should be a little more careful about a game which is going on for 17 years.

In an interview on pcgamer.com they said that combat is getting a big overhaul in Skyrim, which is good. Oblivion combat sucked ballsack. Allso I'm pretty excited about the havok NPC behavior :D

Sounds nice :)

Yeh, Oblivion lacks that certain something. Most people I know who played it just kinda say "the game has no soul, so to speak"

Someone mentioned Daggerfall, yeh it's free now iirc. Ahh, those were the days

They talked something about skill-based leveling and dumping the old system.  :o

Btw, I'm not sure about this.....but is this the first sequel where it was made for PC, Xbox and PS?

The reason why I'm asking is that I'm afraid they will just "port" the game from console. And if they do that, the game will suck, just like any other "port" game  :?

What killed Oblivion for me was the fact that they introduced quest markers, much more satisfaction for questing in Morrowind. I liked exploring and that kind of stuff

Yeah, it was always quite fun trying to follow their (often quite vague =D ) instructions on how to reach a particular place. Sometimes I ended up wandering around a particular area for hours before seeing the landmark which they referenced, but then that sometimes allowed me to find little caves or w/e that I wouldn't otherwise have gone looking for.

Oh those pesky quest markers... whenever I see them I just have to follow them like a sheep. I cannot look the other way or move in another direction. So because of it I uinstalled the game, but then that made me rage too. Because it had "steps" I needed to follow :(

A fun thing they added is if you drop something then the villagers might pick it up and try and return it to you, they may also just take it, of course it depends on the value.
I can see somebody trying to leave a thing but a villager keeps returning it and you will be like "GO AWAY"

Meh, I'm not saying you can't get any exploring done, but it's by far a more dull (and immersion-ruining) way to find your way around quests.

Skyrim is just a must buy for me as long as they include just one thing: the editor. Every single flaw oblivion had can be fixed with mods. I have more faith in the TES modding community than I do bethesda.

Yeah, modding was one of the best thing that ever happened to Oblivion (sure, there were plenty of mods to Morrowing as well, I just never felt I NEED to have them it in order to enjoy the game ^^).

I had like 20 gb in my data folder of mods :P

I actually decided to reinstal oblivion when I first saw the skyrim trailer and while searching for mods today I found this:http://morroblivion.com (http://morroblivion.com). A massive mod that imports morrowind into oblivion. Still busy downloading it, but I must say I'm intrigued.

Well it looks like they used models and textures from morrowind so i dont see much of a difference in graphics...
But it is interesting and might be worth trying :)

I have no doubt this will be better than Oblivion, hopefully more towards the awesomeness of Morrowind.

Whilst Oblivion lacked in alot of areas, it does make me go "huh" when people complain about the combat, it was more fun than Morrowinds combat by far, apart from enemies being able to strafe around you at light speed. Also later mods made the combat even better, check out Deadly Reflexes mod, pretty awesome for what it is.

Whilst it was also buggy, I have to admit there are many times when it made me lol hard, I remember beating on the adoring fan inside a cave, only for him to run off, about 20 minutes later he came back and guards were with him, who then demanded gold for bounty lol, little bastard. I also got a few lols from causing the guards to fight eachother, I would attack loads of them and keep moving around blocking, they'd eventually hit eachother and start killing eachother, lemmings.
