Hello i am kinda new to the cRPG scene and i am looking for advice about my 2h build.I am currently 28 lvl and using 24/12 but i feel really slow.
I did a little research on forums and figured that good players use 18/24 because it gives them the ability to fight outnumbered while str based builds dont punish mistakes so much but arent so efficient in solo fighting.(correct me if i am wrong)
So i am willing to improve my playerskills and take the 2h way, which build should i follow?
Also i could use some advice about armors.I read most people use light armor because the heavier it is the more it slows you down?
As for the weapon i am currently using danish greatsword.
Ty in advance for inputs

Danish greatsword is propably best 2h weapon, loom it to masterwork and enjoy,
18/24 is possible if you are lvl 33,thats long way to go,
for this gen I used 15/24,good build for going alone and attacking enemy from behind,if you really are going to be dedicated 2hander,loom your body armor and gloves, maybe helmet, dont loom foot armor, its useless

Try 21/18:
Level 30
- Strength: 21
- Agility: 18
- Iron Flesh: 4
- Power Strike: 7
- Athletics: 6
- Weapon Master: 6
I believe it's the most balanced and easiest class to begin with. You will strike hard enough even without speed bonus, and your footwork will be decent.
With this build you can wear any armour you want. The stronger, the better.
BTW, you have to convert skill points into attribute points 4 times.

Yep Mikelon's got it, 21/18 is a perfect build for 2h at 30. Since it's a balanced build u can really use any 2h u like.

21/18 is good, but I would still not go over transitional.

i see darkfall is getting boring huh
im using 21/18, its good enough to fight outnumbered and pick good terrains but most pikemen will be able to catch you so beware of them

I prefer 18/21 or 15/21 actually. I love 7 athletics. It feels just right. :)

Even builds are great to start out with. As you progress through the game you'll be able to feel which build you're more comfortable with, and you'll probably stack more points into that certain attribute. For example, for my first couple generations I remember going 21/18, 24/15, and 18/21. However over the generations I found out I liked strength more than I did agility when it came to 2handers, so I started using builds like 27/12, 30/9, and 24/15.
There are many combinations, so feel free to fly with what you feel is comfortable to you :)

Give 24/15 a shot, or 21/18. Also, the way things are atm, Weaponmaster isn't absolutely necessary. It makes the difference between 113 WPF (0 WM) and 156 WPF (6 WM) on a balanced build. It certainly helps, but those 6 points can be put into something else. 21/18 is a great build, and allows you to pump 3 into shield skill to approach archers - its definitely possible to put the sword away and pull it out when you're in striking distance. Try 24/15 out though, you'll be a monster, and definitely still have room for footwork.
If you're insulted by shield skill, max IF, and no weaponmaster, 18/21 is one of the best builds you can do in the game. You'll have 160+ WPF, thus adding to speed and damage in itself, and 7 athletics will let you take advantage of any situation imaginable.
3 IF
6 PS
7 Athletics
7 Weapon Master
The only drawback is you're a little soft, and it'll take an extra swing or two on heavy armored dudes. That's why I'd go 24/15, Max IF / PS, and shut everyone down in 1-3 swings. If you do that build, its 8 IF / 8 PS / 5 Athletics / 2 left over for shield. Don't pump Weaponmaster halfway, like 2 or 3 points, because it gets better and better at higher ranks, and will only give you a few extra points in the end otherwise.

My advice would be to start with an unbalanced slow weapon and a low athletics build and play that for a while, then when you become good at that switch to a slightly faster build but use a polearm with sideswing and see how much easier the game feels.

i've quit darkfall since months,i barely login to do some duels or chat.Btw who are you?
On topic: i am 30lvl right now and using the 24/15 build with 6if,8ps,5ath but still i feel i am getting outplayed by 1handers due to their higher athletics

24/15 is not made for heavy armor...you will be slow.
-
21str/18agi (4 IF, 7 PS, 6 WM, 6 ATH) as long as you don't have the damage of the +3 weapon of your choice and 18str/21agi (3 IF, 6PS, 7WM, 7ATH) as soon as you do (both builds would require you to convert 8 skill points in total).
Take light armor to make full use of your WPF in 2h and learn not to rely on your armor but your blocking and awareness skills in both battle and siege. You also save money that way.

Once you're comfortable with either the 21/18 or 18/21 I would try either 18/24, 24/18 or 21/21 maxed athletics and power strike and then 3 leftovers.
