I sell my loom point every gen, and buy my gear from the marketplace. That's what I did during quite a long time, and the benefits where very clear. But now I need specific items so I use my heirloom points for myself. With the money I also did some trading which granted me a lot of easy income. This worked very well at start, but nowadays most people using the marketplace know the value of things and I don't do much trading. Finally, with duel mode giving xp and gold, I can easily earn back what I loose due to upkeep. I think I break even around constant x3, which is okay. The good days, when I get big bursts of x5, I make 20k gold. But an usual day is -10k.
