Title: LOOMS break LESS
Post by: owens on February 03, 2012, 01:14:57 pm
loomed weapons should break less, clean and simple. Masterwork, elders, well made yet they break just as much seems stupid to me.

Some people are paying 1.5 mill for a +3 why not have them be more than just better weapons.

Im not saying every weapon but it really couldnt hurt.

"here son here is my fathers finest sword unfortunately its fragile and its so expensive to repair you will not be able to afford armour depending on how that chadz guy feels. good luck"

+1 = -1 break chance, +2 = -3 break chance , +3 = -5 break chance?

No. Looms have already better stats. I would even say, they should break more often. Thats a way to balance them out. You want more dmg, better stats for your items? Pay more. Simple.

It is okay right now, that you pay the same. But not the less. Btw I also have some looms, not that you think I would like only others to pay more. I also think the whole keep up is really too low right now... but thats up to the devs anyway.

Since nearly everyone have looms as hell, you would only piss on the new players!

Then why not just buy more expensive, regular equipment?

The whole point of heirlooms (for me at least) is being able to consistently use better equipment at a lower upkeep cost.

No. like others said, its bad for game balance, against new players and very unnecessary.

most loomed weapons are already the most expensive. More expensive regular armourstuff is heavier. loomed have better protection with same weight, enough advantage.

I agree. Heirlooms are good enough as is. It's just that I don't understand why Miwiw thinks there should be a penalty.

if they did do this they would probably raise the upkeep for them to compensate.....
(fyi loomed items do not cost extra upkeep there the same as unloomed ones)

^I know.

I myself do not use or abuse looms(sell). I give them away but considering how much people are willing to pay for them i really dont see how it could hurt. Anyway new players dont exist. The beginners help section is where average players can brag that is about it.

I had this idea when upkeep was heavy and people where able to respec at 26 perpetually without upkeep, but honestly it is logical as most loomed weapons are highest tier anyway that is using more expensive gear is impossible and in the overbalanced world that is cRPG no weapons have a real advantage as everything has been gimped to oblivion. Adding an extra element to loomed weapons is something that the devs should be considering +1 damage really is not worth 500k in my opinion especially when hours are considered and the gimping of time honored character due to a loom fetish.

I'm new
You are in great error. raise money for the repair, will the replacement of inferior equipment.
Just the skills, improved weapons should be sold.... but why sell:
sell for cash - can be sustained as a weapon
"cramps": in total it you are correct market prices will fall, no one will want to use loom equipment, only the richest players

Older things break a way more often.

In that context though it doesnt make any sense that the older things do more damage and can be swung faster than the new ones.

That is the common problem with all rpg games. Why is the high tier stuff better as my starter equipment?
Yes, i know, to add a feeling that your toon gets stronger. But it makes no real sense.

I dont get it how do you pople earn a lot of money in game? How? I earned maybie 300k in first generation because i didnt have repairs all the time, and i exploited system buy respec. my char. Now on my new char gen 2 istill have my 300k and  + 50k that i earned, and one loom. So if you put more braking and higher upkeep on loomed items i will not be able to fit in 17k gear setup and i will not use it. So what is the puropse of gaining generation if you can't use your shit that you earned buy braking your nerves to get from 1 to 31 lvl? Older players have few milions gold and  5+ items and i should pay looms and repairs like them? Wtf are you talking about?
Repairs should be bigger if you have more looms, and more money. less money you have, and less looms, less repairs, and less loosing money.
