Was hoping we could introduce Bards into CRPG.
It was suggested that we introduce Intelligence and CHarisma by another player, I had noted how awesome playing as a bard would be!
Anyone else think this would be rox0rz?!

Warband tries to be as much as realistic as possible ... some magic bard giving bonus around him is pointless in my honest opinion...
This ain't WoW or Ragnarok Online ... if you wanna be a bard , you might aswell keep playing grinding MMORPG

Realistic isn't people running in plate mail and spamming crazy heavy weopons like they're having pillow fights. Tell you what, you can be as realistic as you want, just ignore me while I play my lute and give you a warm fuzzy that makes you spam even faster. Who said it's magic? Are wardrums magic? Are bag pipes magic? The blacks african americans used song to counterbalance slavery for decades in the USA, maybe it's magic, maybe it's not - but in a very short time they moved on as a culture to overthrow their oppressors and soon put a man in the presidential seat. That wasn't magic, that was the power of song to overcome oppression, well that and perserverence. But I'm sure the song helped. This isn't world of warcraft, this isn't ragnarok online, it's the real world - and it's really happening...right now...

You just prove my point by yourself :)
So you playing drums will motivate me of attacking faster , dealing more damage and running faster ? Why don't you play as a peasant and spam the chat with motivation :)

Manly music inspires men to manly actions. Should not give any benefits except the obvious morale boost for the team. Also, only manly instruments like horns or drums, just play vikingr and tell me you don't love their horn (even with custom animation)

Hm
As-long as it's good epic music

Can we TK Bards or mute them ?

Bards usually end up gagged and roped to a tree, remember Troubadix... ;-)
I would find them funny, just like the torchbearers.
Some Irish harper sitting at the spawn area and singing the good old songs how we were walking down the hill after the fight, and all were dead or almost dead, and we were very sad, and very heroic, and got terribly drunk.... would crack me up and make me a leecher just to listen.
Oh, btw we already have Bards: the Whistlers of Inspiration... lol...

Nah, but seriously, there's no need to complicate things in CRPG with additional WoW like attributes like intelligence and charisma, whatsoever...
Someone never played native?

Please don't mix-up my thread with Islander's. Charisma and Intelligence are in Native, you're being a hypocrite by denouncing such things. How many other "rpg's" can you name that have only two statistical attributes to boost?...
There's nothing wrong with Cha and Int.

Not in a long long time...
But I do remember that Int and Cha only give you adavantages on the map e.g. 5% party movement speed, higher morale, being able to heal your party memebers over the time, etc...
Pretty much irrelevant in CRPG where you play battles and battles only :P
Which is exactly the problem.
Mount & Blade is supposed to be about group battles, not 1 vs 1 craziness. A lot of the balance of the stats comes from having to delegate certain roles to your character and your heroes. Native would be really boring with it were only Agi and Str, and all the other skills were automatic or removed altogether.

Surgery and Tactics both give in-battle advantages, not map advantages.
