Title: NH attacked by a bandit

enigmatic looter has attacked our glorious leader NH_Diggles.  The battle is scheduled tomorrow at Noon Central time (-6 GMT).

Diggles is heavily armed, but only has 49 troops versus the 344 for the bandit (numbers shouldn't come into play if we do it right).

Please sign up for the battle if you can make it, we would be very appreciative (I'll go out of my way to protect you on the battle server :) )

Bump, still could use some more people to sign up...we only have 49 troops defending versus 344 (our 98 troops weren't able to be transferred a little over 5 hours before this battle...grrr).

But our troops are heavily armed, and we have all weapon types...please sign up!

Appreciate everyone's help who signed up for our defense.  If we had 100 more troops (like we tried to reinforce with) it would probably have been a hell of a lot closer battle.

Good fight on the attackers side.

Was more like a looter than a bandit, but they just had so much support.  :shock:

Yeah, the leadership was good, defending was a great plan, but I think we just underestimated them and became disorganized.  :cry:

That was BS we tried to reinforce over 5 hours before and it was blocked...

what is the exact mechanic??

I looked in the strat FAQ and it says you have to reinforce BEFORE 19 hours before a battle is scheduled.  But I swore it was different for attackers and defenders.  I thought it used to be that attackers had to reinforce 23 hours before a battle (basically an hour after attacking) and that defenders had up til 5 hours before a battle to reinforce...apparently you have 5 hours after being attacked to reinforce...

so that was my fault for not knowing the mechanics...even though we wouldn't have been able to reinforce in time if I did know.

You have 5 hours from the initial confrontation I do believe.

So If you get attacked at 12 you have until 7 to reinforce and after that you are on your own.

I could be completely wrong.

19 hours before the battle is scheduled, yes, so unless the battle log is backed up or the battle is postponed by night time (I'm not 100% sure night time counts), that comes to 5 hours after the attack is initially launched, because the default wait time for any battle is 24 hours. 24-19=5. This was previously true for both sides, now it only holds for defenders. Attackers only have 2 hours to reinforce after launching the attack, and IIRC this isn't affected by postponements.

It was never the case for either side that you had until 5 hours before the battle (19 hours after launching) to reinforce.

Frank's statement is correct, if he reveresed the numbers. I think he  ment that if you are attacked at 7, you have until 12 to equip. and just typed the numbers in backwards.

+1 Anders, I either did that or turned it into 24 hour time and then wrote down 1700... I was trying to just use pm/am time but borked it.

lol also, I can't do math, its not an Australia thing. I'm in the bottom 2% for numerical operations, which is the basic learnt stuff. I'm fine on mathematical logic but... wait maybe it is an Australia thing... nah, that wouldn't make sense. Anyway long story short I missed a year of school and got put in the dumb class for maths and never caught up.
