Title: Video locking up and then resetting
Post by: Sir_Hawkeye on January 31, 2012, 04:41:34 am
Basically The game will be running fine at 200+ fps and then all of the sudden i have 0 fps for a second or two then back up to 200+ fps. I have no idea what's going on but the problem is isolated this this game. I have a gtx 460 if that's relevant at all. Any help for fixing this would be greatly appreciated. It's been happening for a long time now and just drives me completely nuts.

I had the same problem on my new rig.

Two things that completely made this go away for me are:
Disable "Load Textures on Demand" and "Force Single Threading" in the Warband launcher, first one in the Video settings, second on in the Advanced tab.

Lots of people reported improvements with Multi Threading enabled but i am running one of those i7-2600k Sandybridge CPUs and that had problems and caused freezes for me.

Just give it a shot.

Also in case you run into screen tearing due to VSync being disabled (which i would recommend) set your FPS limit to something that is not a multiple of your monitor refresh rate.
I just put it to 999 and never get any screen tearing.

I didn't have "force single threading" enabled but turning off "load textures on demand" sure seems to of done the trick. Thank you very much   :)
