I don't play cav, but I can tell you morningstar cav are the only non-lance cav that make me really cautious. That thing hits like a freight train.

While other weapons are longer they are all cutting weapons and you will do significantly less damage versus people with armor. I'd stick to Morningstar if I were you, 1 hit kills are lol :D

As a katana user I use the same horse as well.
I often get one-hit kills and they aren't really the biggest concern, due to most of your slashes connecting to targets across the head. Bump-slashing with katanas are also quite easy to do, although I haven't experimented with other weapons if they're easy on others as well.
The only problem I have using the katana is that i often have trouble facing OTHER sword cav. It's probably self-error however and I probably just need to get my timing right

Morningstar tbh. Had been 2 hander cav for a while, and just respecced bacck into it and im using morningstar. But using n axe is quite fun too, and also using a great lance and longsword combo. One shots re awesome. Just use a heavy horse and feast on all the guys that cant see you ;P. 2 hander cav is OP!

I'd suggest Persian battle axe or Great Axe as alternatives to morningstar, i myself use a mighty morningstar and have no problems with it.
If your looking to use a 2h sword from horseback, HBS is excellent, considering its reasonable damage for the price you pay.

since last patch usable on horseback:
Great Axe
weapon length: 96
weight: 3.2
difficulty: 15
speed rating: 94
weapon length: 96
thrust damage: 0 pierce
swing damage: 43 cut
slots: 2
Unbalanced
Bonus against Shield
Pierce dmg still wins, but i guess this would be a fair alternative considered the 96 length, and will not be as slow as the morning star or the persian

dmg on military scythe is ridiculous compared to morning, and he said he's looking for something powerfull. Also i agree length is what matter but the Bardiche is just as slow as the morning..GA is a very good compromise of speed, length and dmg

every singiel archer every singiel plated horsy every singile 2h/1h polearm what i kiled know how dangerous is that weapon(dmg is really big when you use that properly)

im curently on my way to make a 2h cav samurai build, i plan to use katana
It has 95 reach, a bit smaller then other 1/2h weps, but when i played 1h cav, i often grabed morningstar and used it with shield, it has 13 less lenght then katana bit still it was very effective.
Considering katanas super fast speed, 30% penalty wouldnt be that much.
And im planing on having 8ps so even in damage side 30% penalty wouldnt be much
