I've notice that while I have under 10k gold that I don't get repair costs; is this intentional and if so couldn't your gold be safely stored as items?

Before 25, you wont have any repairs.But if your reach 26 you will pay deadly and fucking repairs :D

hmm, I'm not level 25 yet and every time I go above 10k I get hit for repairs.

So maybe there are restrictions for getting charged.
 Like under level 25 and 10k gold.

Yeah I used the trick to buy cheap items marketplace to not get upkeep while I was working on something more expensive then 10k. You actually start to pay at 26 now if you stay under 10k.
