I dont know if it was the recent patch, and frankly i dont care because i had this problem before that. What i do care about is my family paying 150$ a month to the 3rd best ISP in my area for a 50 mb internet connection with a helluva router, and still i ping the na servers in Chicago at an average of 150. Any suggestions other than moving to Chicago, or changing to fiber optics are welcome. my ridiculous ping makes melee combat frustrating, and it is currently the barrier preventing me from becoming any better at the game. I love crpg and generally like its community, so i dont really plan on leaving any time soon.

That's weird. I'm on Comcast in (north) Florida, ping around 30-40. I assume you're in south Florida, what ISP do you have?

i got Brighthouse, and i'm an hour or so outside of Tampa.

Might be someone downloading on your network (Or Torrenting)

Well, I vaguely remember having an issue with my networking waaay back when I first got warband, and I ended up forwarding ports on my router. I think I was hosting games, though, not looking for them. You may as well give it a shot, anyway:
UDP 7240-7245

Is internet really so expensive in US? A 16mbit connection in germany is 25-35 at highest price.
-
forgot to clarify that im not paying 150$ for just internet, but also phone and cable, lol, my bad.
-
i'm only paying 50 per month for the best internet there is, and that also includes phone and tv.
sorry, just had to.

You live in South Korea?
Sweet.

You live in South Korea?
Sweet.
nope, the netherlands, but then again, we do have to sent the company a kilo of pot once a month

I hope that i haven't spoken to soon, but opening the ports on my router seems to have helped significantly. The improvement could just be situational and there is just less drag on the servers, but i'll find out soon enough

still getting problems

50 euros for 100mb net :)

Besides 150$ sounding way off at least for the standards around here , this would not be the first complaint about the servers being located in Chicago.
Not sure what the current provider offers but maybe it's possible to move them to a more central location in the US.

You guys forget the insane amount of crap ISP's in US have to do for the goverment there. The users obviously pay for their snuffing :P
Btw the few times I have played on the US server from ICELAND I have had around 110 ms ping.

I thought the servers were in Chicago.

And you are completely right.
Fixed in my other post.
