Title: Battlegroups mode

So, I finally got around to finish the battlegroups thing - you know, that thing that has been in place for ages and keeps bugging you for your pin.

So this is how it works:
you go to http://battlegroups.c-rpg.net and create a new battlegroup. This is entirely unrelated to the cRPG Website, as in, you can do it for you personally, for your clan, for a group of friends - whatever. There are no limitations.

With this group, you can then go shopping. This means that you can buy as many things as you want, there is no gold limit. The big difference to strategus is: in strategus, when a person dies, he loses this piece of equipment. In Battlegroups, when a person dies, his equipment goes back to the group inventory. So if you have a game of 10vs10, and you want to equip everyone with horses, you only have to buy 10 horses, and it's guaranteed that everyone can have a horse all the time.

So, after you have bought equipment, you can stage a battle against another group that did the same. Simply create a new battle, select gamemode, map, score limit, time limit etc. When you are done, you can send the PIN of this battle to the other group, and they can join up. Now this battle has a unique id and a PIN.

When you join warband, you can select an autobalance mode called "Battlegroups". Select this, then click on "submit poll" - here you can enter the ID and the PIN of the battle. The selected map and gamemode will be loaded, as well as the equipment for both sides, and you will spawn on the map, but locked down in your position. If you click "submit poll" again, you can now toggle the ready status. When both teams have done this, there's a countdown of 30 seconds, and when that is over, the game finally begins.

This mode is intended to create fair matches between both teams. You can use that on any server you want that is set to battlegroups mode. Feel free to ask whatever is still unclear.

Sounds great, will there also be a score ladder or something like this in the future for e-penis comparisons ? :p

Now this is epic, it is indeed a very good idea. It keeps the heirlooms and the grind out but leaves the inventiveness of builds from cRPG. It's the perfect combination for cRPG competitiveness.

Something akin to ENL or NPL would be epic too.

Looks great. Just to confirm. Only 1 person from a clan has to set up the battlegroup? You dont all have to join it individually or anything?

Also, what is the challenge/crush option about?

Like i said a long time ago, i still think looms  would make it more interesting, at least for me (i don't even have a loomed armor btw).

I would like it to show as Private so they can't see what I bought, but still display the total gold cost, so that it is known that gold amounts are fair.

It's just the amount your gear costs basically.
You have an unlimited amount and agree on a number with the other team.

For now at least Eu8 can be configured for it.  Might not work in 10 minutes what do I know.
We had a couple of great matches up for fun!
U just have to collect a crew and test it I guess.. lots of questions probably, but chadz explained it all in the first post.

I'll sum it up.

For now players meet up in nditions TS in the Rageball Event channel. Go there if you want in. Everyone can join!


For the organizing player(s)


1. Create a battlegroup  http://battlegroups.c-rpg.net (http://battlegroups.c-rpg.net)

2. Buy gear for the amount and type of people, you can get whatever you want here. No penalty in getting too much for now. ("Serious" matches should agree on a gold amount though)

3. Create a battle, pass the battle pin to the owner of the other battlegroup (too see the dialogue u must click the battle time)

4. When both teams are in you both have to lock them.

In the cRPG server

1. Organizer make a poll, you choose to start a battlegroup fight with the battle pin.

2. give your Team Pin to the members of your team. They have to use this, and the other team have to use their pin.

3.  Organizer set your team to be ready in the same poll dialogue. (or the game won't start)

I think that was it.. quickly explained.

(When u choose map, the new football field is called scn_blank_2, ruins is called scn_multi_scene_1 )
(Also if you can't change your inventory, make sure all your battles in different lists are unlocked, even finished ones. Then it works)

Managed to get a 16th player into a 15 man battle group team just now.

Possible bug, or is it not meant to prevent that?

Will Leagues be added to Battlegroups at any point soon?

I'm not talking league tables and organised fixtures here - we can manage that.  But it would be nice if you could collect a number of Battlegroups together into a "League" which would then prevent people from playing for multiple Battlegroups within that League in a given time period (as set by the League owner).  You would of course be able to play in any non-League Battlegroup or any battlegroup from a different League during this time

For instance, if i collect 3 teams into a league and set the time period to 3 days then anybody using a pin to play for Team 1, would not be able to use a pin to play for team 2 or team 3 until 3 days had passed.

I'm asking this becuase when attempting to come up with some Rageball League rules, my sticking point has been player registration and this would solve that completely.

I think we did.
But the server was acting funny when it was changing maps anyway so i think it was the servers fault.

On a separate note i am really liking this new mode please keep developing it.

A suggestion from me is could you possibly make it so that the teams swap spawns after the halfway point, without having to start a new battle.
And also make it possible to do multiple maps under the same battle code. this would just make it easier to do scrims were its often played on 2 maybe more maps
