Bears
Taleworlds describes the Vaegirs as russians... Russians ride bears don't they?
As usual, I will post overpowered stats for possible bears
hit points: 180
body armor: 35
difficulty: 6
speed: 30
maneuver: 40
charge: 60
Feel free to complain about these stats
Elephants
We have Mongolians, Japanese, and Chnaserfs in CRPG. Now all we need is elephants (the elephants will be slightly nerfed than my original plan because of them being imported from asia).
hit points: 300
body armor: 40
difficulty: 7
speed: 25
maneuver: 25
charge: 75
Camels
Sarranids need camels. FACT!
hit points: 200
body armor: 5
difficulty: 4
speed: 30
maneuver: 50
charge: 9
I guess these three will have an armored variation (more overpoweredness for slightly less speed)
-
Camels, yes interesting, don't think they are all that hard to implement either. Elephants will probably never work properly and will also mess up balance and mechanics. Riding bears should have been added ages ago.
-
I'm just not sure about how good a camel would be :?
-
It is sometimes said that camels have a smell that scares horses, Horses should do random turns or rearing when a camel gets close. Would be awesome. Or give horses significant penalties in deserts, which camels don't have. They can have high maneuver, low riding and low top speed.
-
I have got camel model from my mod, 2 elephant model from my mod, 1 elephant model from william berne, and 1 bear model from suka. and they are all open source
-
If you're gonna give elephants that much armour, they need to be slow as hell + some other downsides too.
With the charge dmg also... dont you think they're just overpowered?
I dont think this will ever be taken seriously until other players are taken into consideration.
-
Camels should be high maneuver with low speed and relatively high hp(They can endure more than a normal horse)
-
Alright, I edited the OP so that the elephants and camels are a bit more realistic. Elephants would have super low maneuverability but still a pretty high charge and enough speed to actually charge. Not sure about how not to overpower bears though
-
It's a fucking bear, if it isn't OP, something is very wrong!
-
Bears have thick fur and skin: They should have both high armor and high health. They should be slow as hell though. Average maneuver makes sense, being quasi-bipedal.
hit points: 180
body armor: 35
difficulty: 6
speed: 30
maneuver: 40
charge: 60
More hit points than plated charger, less armor than barded horses, slowest mount, with okay maneuver, and best charge.
I say difficulty 6 because otherwise you'd only get pansy-ass agi chars riding them, which is not fitting for such a beast. To make up for this, the gold cost would be substantial.
Who would ride bears? I think 1h/2h cav mostly. They wouldn't be good for horsearchers (too slow, vulnerable to cavalry). They would be quite slow for lancing. If I was to ride the bear I created above, I'd get a shield, heavy armor, and a morningstar. Throwing weapons might be useful too.
Although the suggestion seems non-serious, I think it would be a huge boost to the game's popularity. Bear-riding isn't historically accurate, but almost conceivable and this is Calradia after all.

If the bear has charge 60 then the elephant will have 120? If the dev needs OSP bear, camel and elephant model go ahead and ask me.
-
That doesn't follow. I was thinking about the bear by itself in comparison to the currently available mounts. 60 Charge is only 14 higher than the plated charger. The high charge is to simulate the bear's biting and clawing as it lumbers around. Actually, the bear's speed might even be reduced to 25-28, or low as possible without making it useless.
-
mmhm yes very good
Elephants would probably be pretty big so it would only be suited for archers. Very low speed and maneuverability to compensate for their high charge and armor/health.
