Title: Warband loading then black screen.

Exactly as the title says. Warband finishes loading, gets to "finished", then turns into a black screen, then closes.

I've heard of deleting the .net 3.5 and .net 4.0, but I can' find them anywhere.

It worked by deleting cRPG then re-installing it, but now that won't work.

I've got the Steam version of Warband (God knows why)

Any suggestions?

Try launching the cRPGLauncher.exe as admin.
Try disabling the steam community ingame overlay.
If possible try installing the stand alone version of Warband, not even sure you will need to enter a key if the steam version is installed.
If yes you might be able to just take the serial from steam.

Yesterday someone had permission problems and his loading screen would look like this: http://i44.tinypic.com/2zscsc4.png
So...might as well cause a blackscreen i guess. :mrgreen:

The disbaling Steam Community didn't work, and I'm already computer admin
I'll try downloading it now, then.

Also make sure you run the latest version of the launcher: http://www.c-rpg.net/cRPGLauncher.exe
And use the repair function (will most likely kill all sub mods you are running like the banner pack and more metal sounds and stuff).
Might fix it though.

I had some problems with Warband some time ago. I was able to fix it for me: Open Windows-Explorer, in address bar enter "%appdata%" (without the " ). Go to folder "Mount&Blade Warband" and delete the file perf.dat. That file was causing problems for me, though it is recreated every time Warband is started. Don't delete the other files as they hold your configuration and profiles in Warband.

Nope. Nothing's worked. I've downloaded and installed from Tale Worlds, tried your idea Dodnet, nothing worked.

It works fine with Native. :(

Did you download the whole thing via the 0.5 launcher or did you just copy over the crpg module from the steam folder?
Also did you try enabling load textures on demand and did you try to run dx7 instead of dx9?

Just some stuff that might be worth trying.

I think it was everything. Steam getting in the way, the Perf.DAT, cRPG launcher has to be ran as admin. Also, I always have to go in through the launcher too.
