Title: Little Question about Siege: Ladders vs Ladders (waiting final feedback)
Post by: karasu on January 09, 2012, 02:57:10 pm
Since I see no other place to put this question, I'll just leave it here:

Is there a rule / should there be a rule, about ladders placed in order to block ladders in Siege?

Thanks in advance.

No, if a defender has a ladder they will probably use it to block door. One situation I've seen in blocking ladders is the ugly moss map where ladders are placed almost every round there and defenders block with their ladders.

The is already a rule for it.
If you place counter ladder to obviously and repeatedly, then you have high chances to get banned.

Ok then, thanks for the answers.

Since it's a rule and it's not specific in the Official Server Rules (http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,2606.0.html) thread, I'd like to ask cmp, or any other dev/admin/mod that can do it, to update the thread with more info related with Siege, to something like:

Siege mode specific rules

There are several other things to add as-well but I can't remind them at the moment, will come back with game time.

Also is the Ladder-pulting a Battle Server rule only? Cause I see it constantly in Siege, and is in fact one of the few weapons defense has against the wave of ladders from the attacking party.

Cheers in advance, feel free to do whatever you want with this post after reading.

Siege mode specific rules
  • No opening the gates as defender
  • No stopping on ladders and blocking your team-mates on purpose
  • No placing ladders as defender in order to avoid attack players to place invading ladders
  • No stacking several construction sites to block doors
  • No blocking doors and gates with ladders
  • No usage of ladder teleporting on gates glitch
  • No creation of weapon racks to spawn more than a few items to block movement

There are several other things to add as-well but I can't remind them at the moment, will come back with game time.

According to the official server rules, kinda yes..

Quote
OK: using a ladder to reach a roof that can't be reached normally

But in return:

Quote
NOT OK: exploiting invisible barriers
NOT OK: going out of map bounds (if you can see unfinished parts of the map, then you should not be there)
