Like having bad day playing this game usally I do good. But haveing bad in this game you lose so much. I can't fight anyhting in this mod because I can't afford to repair my amour. Like jesus crist. You guys need to fix the repair rate in this game. Just imagine what the low levels are going through because they can't afford to repair there amour.

Drawn from my own experiences repair costs are fine. I feel like a tincan and I still gain money. You should scale down on your equipment cost. There are plenty of low tier weapons that are about as good as the top tier, but much cheaper. Or just get a little less armour.
Sometimes you have bad luck with a multiplier, you need atleast 20k as a buffer to get you through the rough patches. Losing money for a few hours doesn't mean losing money overall.
-
You need to get some reserve gold.
Let's say: 50-75k.
That can keep you up with like 40k gear as well.
For a long time, if you're good, you'll even earn gold.
(Personal Experience)
Thing is that you have to really restrict your gear set to low until you get that amount of gold.

Repair cost is fine, but like Christo and Teeth said, you have to have some backup gold. Everyone gets those days where they just sit at x1 for hours (Ok, maybe not Chaos). Played a few hours last night with 23k equipment cost, and made no money. It happens, just make sure you have a bit of backup for those times. In general I find I can break even on average with up to about 45k in gear.

Upkeep doesn't hurt me with an average of 5k in the bank, Byzantion Helmet, Sarranid Guard, Splinted Greaves, Mail Gauntlets, and a glaive.
That's only ~29k, and gives me 48 head armor, 50 body armor, and 38 leg armor.
Repair costs are fine.

Once I got to about 30K worth of gold saved up I had no problems with upkeep. This was before I had a good, solid equipment load out for my lancer cav character.
I now sit comfortably utop a pile of 100k gold, which, despite my occasional plate armor/armored horse adventures remains constant. This is the most expensive class in the game--cavalry, and I ride a courser constantly, which isn't cheap.
As the above posters have said, get a nice, 'average' priced set of equipment and play until you get a nice reserve saved up. Then play in your expensive shit (occasionally). What build are you, and what equipment do you use?

I think repair costs are quite decent. Well... as melee build I could make 150-200k cash in one gen so it feels quite a lot to me. As HA I was losing about 20k in one gen.
I would love to see more tincans and plated horses in game though. Maybe just make sure they are slow enough or something so people won't overuse them. Make it more like choise of pick, not like now when you can run around quickly in 15/24 build and plate. Requirements are too low.
My suggestion. Lower costs on heavier armour, but increase str requirements.
-
Is this an attempted troll? I'm really not sure...
^ Yeah str 22 on plate would be good/funny.

I think Cav is the only area where repairs could be lowered. New players who want to be cav could be deterred by the costs of a rouncey or destrier (decent horses for light cav).
Otherwise, I believe the repairs should be higher on armour so we would have less transitional/plate/heavy chain armour. I don't even understand why people want to run around in that dreadful armour all the time. It is so heavy and slow!

I think the amount of plate we see right now is fine, its already been nerfed so no more constant glancing.

I suggest you learn to rely on your skills rather than on your armour ;)
Repaircosts are fine

+1 for you. I feel the same. My first generation I was basically able to buy my courser, basic armor and heavy lance. About half the time on my first gen I had to go infantry and save up money. Basically anything under 10k and I went infantry. Now that I've retired twice and have about 140k (from selling loom points, and then being able to buy what I wanted for less), I never have to worry about money.
I don't think I'm using really uber leet equipment, but my load is : 64,612 gold, and I've only lost maybe 10-20k this generation (hard to say because I bought so much equipment). But I honestly don't see myself needing to worry about money with my equipment loadout for another generation, or most likely 2 or 3.

I hope he looks into this topic again, I am really curious what his equipment looks like :?
