Title: Two handed/ One handed Swords ?
Post by: Modsec on February 21, 2011, 09:25:51 pm
Ok, so i see these two-handed swords with secondary available... and i picked one up... used it behind a shield and when i switch it to 2 hander it's held like a pole-arm. Are there any that are not held like pole-arms? I've seen so far that the sword of war and heavy bastard sword both are held like a pole arm.

Also, does the fact that its held like a pole-arm mean that it uses the polearm WPP?

You mean switching via x?
Well, the bastard swords have 4 modes if you so will.
Normal 2h usage (uses 2h wpf), if you switch to a shield while holding it (no pressing x) you use them onehanded with 1h wpf but with speed and damage reduction. If you press x you switch into halfswording mode which uses polearm wpf and can also be used twohanded and, when you take a shield, onehanded.
Only 1h weapons with "secondary mode" can be switched from 1h usage to 2h usage by pressing x, for the others this depends on shields (and x switches between 2h/1h mode and polearm mode). The langes messer is stabbed like a polearm, but used 2h wpf.
I hope that is somehow understandable...

The only part that I did not understand is whether or not the Bastard sword in "Half-Swing" Mode uses polearm WPP.

"Half-swording"
And yes, it does.

Any two-handed sword that is being half-sworded uses polearm WPF.
