Title: More peasants - Cereal and milk

So, whilst playing cRPG, hunting peasants as usual, i came to a shocking realisation - THERE SIMPLY AREN'T ENOUGH PEASANTS!

Horrible.

So, thinking about this problem, i came to a solution - give peasants multiple lives in battle! Just having 2 lives for peasants would double their squishy numbers! Yum!

This creates many leechy peasants, who die once and then wait in the equip menu. Otherwise, it would be nice.

Well, we'd have to quantify what constitutes a "peasant".  What's the level cut-off? Are heirlooms off-limits to be considered a peasant?....

The heart of the idea is amusing, but seems hard to implement.  I'm fine with giving peasants a unique perk but I don't think this is it.

I would say less exp for the first 10 levels or a gold bonus for equipment. 

The problem is new players don't hang around coz they keep on getting cheesed by all the high lev players and their shiny shiny.  Lets face it... your new to the game...you start as a smeg head...you get constantly one shotted and your lifespan is the same as a snowball in a blast furnace...you go back to native which has a more even playing field.  :(

They could always create a level specific server.. ya know 'Peasant Wars, a Tale of Two Villages' or 'The Redneck Wars' for levels 1 to 10 or 1 to 15.  :mrgreen:

Actually, can I change my vote?

I picked peasant hugger since I defend them a lot.

But then I realized that I want more peasants so I can hug them, too.

Ooooh this would be hilarious, a server that has a level cap designed for pezzies. "A Tale of Two Villages" sounds great!

Y'kno, this would also make the first few levels more fun for peasants. Also, any proper battle should have some number of peasants.

You guys realise with the new system you get level 15 in 1 hour max? And by then you will have money for light-medium armor and weapons so it's natural peasants are extinct.

If thats true then basically your character has been upgraded from chopped liver to chew toy.  The main problem for the game as a whole is retaining new players so there is a reason to keep the servers on and make it fun.  Not to mention just filling a battlefield.

The issue is, is that there is no ranking system so beginners get thrown in with the old timers, their heirloom kit and weapons of frightful smiting.  At that point the newb dies instantly several times, logs off and goes back to native because its just not fun being ganked all the time.
A rare few like myself dont mind being lolstomped over and over again but the rest just vote with their mouse and go somewhere else.
Dont forget peasants are a straight up easy kill and as such primary targets for archers and anyone else within range.  I have watched tin cans deviate from a large scrap just to turn me into paste because its easy and safe.  Have that happen over and over and most newbs will just leave.

I was joking when I said have level specific games, but since I was the only straw hat on last night that I saw, and I attracted trouble like shit pulls flies, I think I will upgrade it to 'serious suggestion'.

Edit: Don't forget peasants are the only thing archers can kill at the mo.  :mrgreen:

Maybe we don't want to be gaining levels after a certain point? :D

In what game? I make lvl 10 in under 20 minutes. You level up so fast there isn't time to be a peasant. Why? Because people complained about how crappy it is. We can't both have peasants and have those peasants happy about being peasants.

Here's a tip. Don't spend your skill and attribute points ;)
You still get some minor health points or something, but in anyones eye your still a peasant.

Never used to attack peasants but now ignore one and he'll likely obliterate you with his Masterwork Flamberge and ps 7 2 seconds later.

I try very hard to avoid peasants.  Sometimes they kill me via the method Woody mentioned above but usually they happily run off elsewhere and it brings joy to my heart knowing they've gone off being their peasanty selves for at least a few more seconds.  It's worth it.

Of course, when I'm shooting my war bow I have absolutely no control where the arrows go with only 139 wpf so I don't care who I shoot then.  Archery brings the worst out of people...

Er slight exageration there unless you are lucky enough to play on the side which is able to maintain a x4, x5 multiplyer over several maps.
Not to mention its avoiding the issue of the level gap between being able to hold your own against the enemy or being mince.

I ask the question, at what level should a player be able to hold there own against the armoured up majority and their heirloomed kit?
