Title: Bugtracker, Coders
Post by: chadz on December 30, 2011, 04:21:49 am
Two great announcements to make:

First, we have a new bugtracker for posting... well, bugs. We, as the devs, will also use it as a todo list and for patchnotes, so you might be able to spot what's coming up. Not everything will be revealed in advance, obviously. Link to it: http://bugtracker.c-rpg.net - you have to register.

Then, we also picked four new trial coders to see if they fit the team. That would be:
Dehitay
Kafein
Ozin
Tennenoth

I'm sorry for everyone we didn't pick, but we really have to limit it somehow - 4 is already more than we planned on taking in. But there might be another chance. For now, we're filled up with motivated coders, so I foresee good times.

Good choice on taking new coders, now put dem slaves to work and let's see some progress!

PS: The tracker is quite good, it's not Jira, but hey, probably free right?

Jira is horribad, we'd need to shut down all game servers to get resources to run it.

This is very awesome, might start listing off some of the many and varied bugs I've discovered while playing this mod. A better cRPG for all! Good show donkey crew.

yeah, everyone, feel free to copy bugs over to the new bugtracker. We won't check the forum for bugs any more.

Nice.

Clarification:
- is this for bugs only, or also suggestions?

I fear that if we put suggestion on it , it would really harder to make the difference between bug and just crazy suggestion.
Maybe you should definetely wait for dev confirmation between putting a suggestion on it.
imao the only suggestion that can be considered as bug fixing , is if you know a feature that can be easily abused to ruin the game.
Nice.

for now, bugs only. suggestions would make the bugtracker unusable and flooded. When we see a suggestion we like, we'll put it in the bugtracker as a todo ourselves.

I definetely love that bug tracker. Easy  way to report bug , it's also easy to add information to bug reported by someone else. I hope the four new coders and the bug tracker wil help updating crpg more often.

Also chadz , you should tell if things are missing in bug report  , or if some bug that are reported aren't bug and shouldn't be reported, so we can keep clear and usable the bug tracker.

Ah good. More coders means that there's a better chance of CAV getting NERFED--to the point where cav players simply will not possess keyboards.

At least one of the new coders is cav. But if you want, I can try to find a way to make keyboards useless to cav. Autopilot horses that use server information to tell which direction projectiles are coming from and automatically know the reach of melee so I can just attack without steering.

why didn't you just make a new board on this forum?

http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/board,9.0.html (http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/board,9.0.html)

???

Quite obvious. It's much more easier to read incoming reports, more organized, et cetera, et cetera.

I think cmp should be able to do that.

Also, if you are cav Dehitay, then there are at least 2 new cav developper applicants. I just asked on IRC and in the main team, there are none.

I guess it's important to have for each class at least a dev playing it. You can't really understand the subtlety of each class , even more of each build without playing it

That's why I should be a dev, then. I can't code, or use internet stuff; just turning on my computer is takes on the quality of a life-or-death struggle with the machine-forces which so threaten to overtake society.

I counter the machine-forces by playing naturally. Ie: naked.

Make me dev plz.

What? No read-only permissions???
Title: Re: Bugtracker, Coders
Post by: Tydeus on January 01, 2012, 01:16:47 am
<Tydeus> Would it be reasonable to add to the bug tracker under "Warband - maps" that one of the maps is missing entry points 66-68 (MotF)?
<Tydeus> or maps that have buildings that need changed due to one of the recent patches?

Still haven't gotten an answer on these. They're so trivial and with NA/EU having separate rotations, I'm not sure if I should add them.
