-
im noticing this too, what is up??? i went from 30k to 18k in a few minutes just using really average armor that i always make money on... :/
-
I noticed it. I can't make money with anything above rags, normal arrows and a tatar bow.
-
Play xmasRPG there is no upkeep!
Problem solved!
-
I have noticed it is all but impossible to play as medium cav in medium armor anymore, it feels like my truck payments.
-
same here. can't even keep 30k of gear unless it's x5
-
yesterday i was running around in milanes plate 8kgold helmet plate boots 2k gloves(coz it loooomeeddd!) and danisch for a half day and i was still abel to make gold

Uhm. I made 10k yesterday. Played 2 hours maybeh. My gear is around 25k
-
I made about 7k in 3 hours yesterday and that's with 30k gear.
-
I'm also making nice profit with 33k gold gear.
-
Turning the same kind of profit as ever and devs have said already upkeep wasn't changed, this is just the same old urban legend bullshit.
-
i wear gear of 100k , and still have same amount of gold, maybe loose 2-3 per hour
-
Im having less repair bills if anything (meaning less things breaking)

THIS!!! x10, don't get why anyone even bothers playing the new cRPG, way too much of a grind with upkeep.

The only ones singing the praises of old C-rpg are you nostalgia driven old fools!

Even without upkeep old crpg is 10x more of a grind :| Takes far far longer to get equipment in old crpg than in new. The one thing that bugs me about it. I prefer old crpg gameplay, but would only play it if gold/xp intake was increased. Otherwise I will stick to new crpg rather than go through the very painful grind again.
Put it this way, in new crpg I can equip a new character with 20k of equipment in 3 hours of gameplay. After 3 hours of gameplay in old crpg I managed to afford about 800 golds worth of equipment.

Trust me it is not nostalgia.

It certainly isn't nostalgic for me. Old CRPG was a nightmare when it came to balance. I suppose if you were one of the few super stated ultra rich murder machines it was fun. But for most of us it was little more than a peasant rape simulator. OLD C-rpg is what drew me to the game in the first place, but i'd rather sit under a rain of arrows anyday than return to that.

Because some did not have the attitude of a good peasant - sadly, not enough have the stones to withstand withering archer fire, and actually scary warriors to stick it out and become a terror themselves. You know, the feeling when you finally kill 'that guy'...

too much of a grind
Irony.
-
not sure whats going on but i was charged up keep and im only lev 21 1st gen

Same... Meow was not sure why but my Fallen_Xocoyol character is getting hit by repairs despite never retiring nor respeccing and being low level.
Bleh.

Judging from the enormous amount of whine from almost everyone about the new cRPG foam arrow storm which does not hold a candle to old cRPG/Native... I am doubting that more then a dozen people had these "stones," or the majority of cRPG vets have become enormous sissies who have forgotten what range spam really means and don't play enough Native.

I dunno about you guys but I made 8k in half an hour wearing 76,310 gold of armor.

Stop counting loom inflation!
What is the actual price counting base equipment?

Ah, so that's why the prices were awkwardly high: 46,840
-
46k is quite ok, 8k + in half hour is prolly on the up side of random distribution though
-
I don't know what you all experience about higher upkeep at the moment, but maybe it is now balanced^^
With longbow + bodkins you are always losing money, if not on x3 or higher. So why shouldn't you others as well? :O

I'm only gen 3, before I retired my first time I had all the equipment that I wanted for heavy lancing from a courser. The most I ever had was 20k, if I ever dropped down under 5k I'd go infantry until I had about 10k and then jump back on my courser with heavy lance, scimitar, knightly heater shield, heraldic mail, mail chausses, and mail gauntlets.
It's not hard to "upkeep" your equipment, especially after you retire once (I made 100k and still was able to get the heirloomed item I would have loomed anyways). And I imagine most of the people bitching have retired 10+ times and have basically unlimited money.

I don't like the fact that you sometimes have to play something "worse" to be able to play your favourite build again... :?

I honestly didn't have a problem with it. Riding a horse and wearing nice armor would require upkeep and money. Most people were not mounted knights, and if I need to make some money as a peasant mercenary, then so be it.
If everyone was able to play their favorite build at any time, there would be no need for building up skills or purchasing equipment. That's kind of the whole point of c-rpg.
-
What about when you turn off auto repair your equipment will break but never to the point of not ever being able to use it again. Example: coat of plates when fully broken is reduced to say 32 armor so you can still use whatever you want, it will just be really reduced in effectiveness unless you repair it.

:?: :?: :?:
looks like it just went up again or is it just me having shit luck :?:

I'm not sure if upkeep was increased but I have noticed something. I've respecced a lot lately, and so I've gotten to try all sorts of different equipment setups of varying costs. Archery, my current build, is by far the most expensive play style I've done in last 3 months. I lost 10k last night in a matter of three hours while wearing about 30k worth of gear. Xbow, cavalry, plated 2h... none of these seem to come close to the cost of archery. Is this a ninja effort to penalize me for going pew pew?

Yes. Like I said, Tatar Bow, regular arrows, and a ragged outfit unless you want to go broke.
-
Yeah, what's up with that? I can run around in heavy armor with a longsword/shield and a horse and still make more money than I can in cloth with a bow and arrows.
-
I dunno how you guys make profit i just manage to keep it somewhat stable granted i use a crap helmet an boots to save gold an keep my equipment cost to a total worth of 43k
With that setup i dont gain or lose gold seams like im goin 50/50 lol
Tried being cav once but that shit is expensive as hell if your using a courser an upwards
-
I'm swimming in gold and don't have any problem with upkeep. Though it has to be said, x5 is a lot more common than the dreaded x1.
-
Lost loads of gold on siege at one time when I had x1 for 22 rounds. Damn you auto balancer.
Still keeping my gold sorta even with 25k of equipment.

Siege hurts your gold stash
