Title: Chaos Banditry! need help
Post by: CrazyCracka420 on November 30, 2011, 11:20:18 pm
Tomorrow (Dec 1st) at 4pm CST I have a battle vs malaclypse who attacked me near the city of Reyvadin.  It's 49 troops vs 49 troops, I have pretty good gear to equip with, and have bows, polearms, 2h, 1h+shield.   Sign up and help fight the Chaos oppression!

This brigand would have you believe that he did not, within the claims of the Chosen Hands of the Ascended Order of Stratia, attack two travelers- unarmed and lacking in troops- with no warning. I fight for the memory of Louise de la Valliere of the Bridgeburners as well as for Leo El Colombiano!

Louie offended my troops when we passed each other on the road with racial slurs and I felt it necessary to defend my homeland.  Leo insulted my military prowess when he said my men were dressed like peasants.  Both actions were justified in the response I gave.  I see your attacking me as unwarranted aggression when I'm merely trying to pass west through Reyvadin to Ambean, I've never been the aggressor, I only defend myself.

(+1 for the RP)

I say this man deserves to go free! He was clearly in his right to defend his honour after those insults! May the Creator be with you in your battle, young one.

I say, we have made it very apparent that we do not tolerate banditry or the attacking of other neutral parties within our lands. Be it they insult your kinsmen, your lover, or your honor! Should you agree to forfeit your stolen goods and leave our lands with your remaining army and any other terms we may have, we may be able to broker a deal regarding the survival of you and your men. If not, prepare to have your humility brought before you and the gods witnessing above by way of our swords and spears.

Signed,

DarkKarma,

Ambassador of The Nation of Stratia

Be thankful, vermin of Calradia, that our silver-tongued ambassador sets humanity before justice with this offering. For the lot of you have not yet seen the wrath that is Chaos, when our lands are are trespassed in ill will and our subjects well being is compromised.

Back in old Stratia, your heads on the henchman's block would have been too good a punishment for the likes of you. You would be hunted down by the Sentinels patrolling our lands and mercy for you would only be found at the tip of a blade.

But our Sentinel Malaclypse remembers these times. He remembers them well... and we do not have the means or the intent to restrain him for long...

I'm just going to transfer my equipment to some random in the town, I could care less about 49 troops.  If there was any chance I could get equal numbers to sign up for me on the battlefield I'd show up and just waste the equipment in a fight to the death.  No way I'm going to give you all the nice armor I have.

Rob from the rich, give to the poor I guess.  I didn't realize Chaos was policing Reyvadin or else I wouldn't have attacked people there.  I understand your reaction was justified, I wasn't purposely trying to give Reyvadin a bad name for Chaos.  Hope there's no hard feelings or animosity to the faction I plan on joining in Strategus.

Does Chaos have any enemies who would sign up for battle against them?  Not that I know of...and the people I'd ask to join my side are friendly (and neighbors) of Chaos so I doubt they want any animosity to build.

you should pay more attention to who you attack as well. who else is neighbours with the faction you are planning to join?

I was not affiliated with any factions, I just assumed my actions would only represent me.  Louie's got a pretty loose tongue, you should tell him to keep his racist remarks to himself.  Or maybe that's just after he's had a few drinks.

Easy targets are easy targets

And with ease shall they fall. Good luck in the battle - you will need it.

Thanks, I was never under the impression that my lone self going up against the Chaos war machine would be a battle.  More like a route, but call it what you will.

I'll limp away and lick my wounds, but I'll still enjoy sticking you with my heavy lance in the battle server.

Please sign up for Huseby's side, anyone! Small, non-territory staked battles are my favorite part of strat, and like 12 more people on the other side would make this a proper skirmish.

Well I wish I could have accepted people into the battle beforehand and then you would have actually had a skirmish on your hands.

As far as delaying, chadz even replied to a post I asked and said that it was in the defenders best interests to stay alive and prolong the match as long as possible (if you want to keep your gear).  So I think "delaying" seems like a reasonable tactic if I'm trying to retreat from a battle with as much equipment as possible.

You gotta keep your lands bandit free, I understand, no hard feelings.  Hop in the battle server sometime Mala and we'll see what's up :P

Delaying is not okay. You were avoiding us. What IS okay, however, is holding your ground and forcing attackers to come to you. We didn't mind you running in squares though because the exp was so good.

And I'm arguing that should be part of the game.  Why would 1 person pull an Alamo against 18 other people?  I'd retreat with as much shit as I could.  chadz even said that the defenders should delay as long as possible before they retreat (or lose) so they can keep as much gear as possible.  The only time you should be able to kick someone from a strat battle is if they are TK'ing.  I think this argument would be better suited in a thread that people would actually read.

Is there a quote that needs to be reached before the enemy puts up a vote kick for the person running around?  Do I need to attack one person every 2 minutes?  Do I need to kill a certain amount of people every few minutes?

I've never seen these rules that state you can't delay in a strat battle, or a rule that says that you can kick people from the other team in a strat battle.

[11:20] <Ufthak> Intentionally running around in a square during a strat battle when you're the last guy alive forever and not trying to fight  is delaying and not okay, right?

[11:22] <Shikk> yes

These rules apply to official servers:
- EU_cRPG_x (1,2,3,4,5,6,8)
- NA_cRPG_x (1,2,3,6)

Quote
No drawing/delaying the round on purpose (i.e. running away or camping unreachable places when you're one of the last people alive)

It is in the defenders interests to have the battle last as long as possible, but just running away endlessly is still against the rules.

Ok well good to know the answer.  I'd have still done what I did again because of the website being down for an hour before the battle (where I was attacked) so I couldn't recruit more people to fight for me.
