Title: I need ur help optimising the game.

So the story is this:

Ever since the "collision" patch lets call it that or the wse or whatever and the start of latest strategus i have been expiriencing some odd and really gamebreaking (in my case) problems.
The thing is my ping has almost doubled, went from 30/40 to 60+ but it still remais around 40 with less than a 100 player on the sever, so even with double ping 60 is great ye?

Not really, the problem is my character is really not responsive enough, most of the time i have the feeling of walking in mud, when i get hit i get teleported 2 meters back a forth, when i try to feint he swings in one direction than stops for a second and then preforms a swing in onther feinted direction (if you catch my drift) also after attacks he seems "stuck" in an animation and unable to preform a block, ive heard he actually is blocking but i cant see the animation, but really if i cant see what hes doing how am i supposed to controll him.

I play a 2her and feints and blocks are a vital part of my game, ive tried switching to ranged for that perticular reason but i just cant pewpew thats not why i started playing this i like the bloodbaths and the clusterfucks  :mrgreen:

So what ive tried to get this sorted out.

First ive checked my connection and its fine. i have no such problems in any other game or Native for that matter
visitors can't see pics , please register or login
 (http://www.pingtest.net) grade A, etc. etc. its all good. Maybe opening some ports dunno post if you know more about that and what can i do to improve my latency (if that is the problem)

Then i have reinstalled the game numerous times, even got myself off Steam, got a key from Taleworlds and dowloaded and intalled the game from there, installed the mod fresh etc. etc. Im not runnung any additional mods like metal sounds i only have the banner pack. is there anything eises i can do in registry maybe i dont know? post if you know something i dont.

Ive tried running the game in low and high settings alike sam thing occurs. this is my rig:
Win 7 / Ultimate SP1
Intel i5 2500
8 gigs of ram @ 1333
GTX 480
OCZ Vertex 3
i run basically every game no problem hardware wise so i dont think that is the problem here. Load textures on demand doesnt help. You know any other solution post pls.


that is all the information i can think of, im really trying to enjoy this game and this mod for a while longer but really its almost impossible for me to play properly atm and the game feels pretty broken for me, so any input would be appreciated.

if you have similar problems pls share them and the possible solutions.

Hello prpavi,
check native. I noticed there lags too (wrong block animation showed but right at the impact it shows the correct block, no swing although i clicked mouse button).
But in general hitboxes lag more on native. In special overheads, you can hit someone by swinging beside him while hes circleing/turning :D

i didnt quite notice it on native the last time ive played to be frank.

im going to check now just to make sure.

*shrug* One day I suddenly got 100-130 ping (after the servers crashed, during the summer) and quit crpg because it couldnt be bothered to play at 120ping all the time, a month ago I launched MBW again and the ping is back to 70, its pretty weird.

I think you are experiencing bad ping aka latency, not hardware problems. Do a speed test to a german server or perhaps even try pinging/tracerouting the cRPG server, see where it goes bad.

I had my ping at about 120 for 2 months then I finally figured out it was ISP's fault when shit started going even worse. It's back to 60 now, which is good (for Slovenia lol).

I have similar problems moisty, usually I had 50+ ping, and now I get at best 70+.

But seems you're experiencing heavy packet loss and constant lag. That's when the shit hits the fan. Check everything about it if you can, tracing DNS responses to "dig" requests, etc.

The netcode of the game itself isn't top notch, so we have to deal with it sometimes. Meh

When i suspect i'm having connection problems, i just do:
start -> run -> cmd
ping www.google.nl -t
let it run while i play and alt-enter back to it when i feel like i'm having packet loss or lag
and press ctrl-c for the results

You might wanna ping something else than google.nl but for me that is one of the most reliable hosts to do my ping tests.

did this pinged both .nl .de, ran that while playing and teleporting.

0 packet loss, highest 46, lowest 25, average 29. (thats from .de)

sounds good to me.

you can try this dude:


1. disable «Load textures on demand»
2. disable all «Render methods»

This help me. Not a panacea, but you'll receive more stable performance.

My ISP is shit, my net is shit, I lag like a wild beast and therefore I use what I have left of my armour rating to spam like a madman in hope I'll kill something. If I tk you it wasn't on purpose, think of me as a retarded but cute child :)

new update, today i messed around with the drivers a bit.

got latest ones, got older ones, nothing helps.

im moving on ice here my char is skating on the battlefield, than stops for a second than moves 2 meters forward. sometimes my char wont release his attact for a second or two.
i have 250-350 fps on any map with all maxed out.

loosing my hope here.

45 fps here with low settings. Yeah man, dont be too sad

scary mod no, i caould try the other optimization pack but i get from 250-350 frames per second on any map. i never drop below 200 so i dont know how much good this would do.

Also, 200 fps is useless, cap it at 120 or something to not overwork your computer.

Scary mod fucked up few things with latest patch, yesterday on startegus battle I couldn't see model of some weapons... lolz. But optimization works fine.

Prpavi, called your ISP yet? Just tell them your internet has been working slow lately and that they should check the signal and packet loss and shit like that. Usually ISPs don't charge for a call so it will only cost you a few minutes :)

your isp must be different from other isp's. impossible to get any normal ISP to admit that the fault could possibly be theirs.

Fact is, I used to work for my ISP for 2 years, so I knew EXACTLY what they see, know, can or cannot do :D
Victory was inevitable.

But the best thing to do is to tell them you tried everything and that you're sure the problem is on their side. That usually gets them checking.
Best to say your local network works flawlessly, you turned off all your antivirus/firewall, you checked for viruses, you closed down any torrent software/other software that might hurt bandwith.

Ok Vibe thx for the advice will do that, since ive tried every other possible solution.

Btw. im playin right now and its worse than every, my ping is around 80, was never that high.
