Geez what the hell happened to make everything so expensive? And Since WHEN did Loompoints start costing 500k+? I remember 450k was the maximum people would pay.THats pretty much paying 1.5mil for something you're probably only gonna get 1.2mil for and thats if you get lucky lol. And also on the marketplace the price of some of these weapons are priced higher than +3 Armor!?!?! MW Flamberge for 1.350K? MW Glaive for 1.350k? wtf?!? These prices just randomly went up or I just prolly missed out on something lawl.

With the start of this round of Strategus, you'll find that most clanners have stopped retiring for the time being, as they need their characters to be strong when engaging in the fights.
With the reduction of people retiring, heirloom points are becoming more scarce, pushing the prices upward. They'll continue to increase to the point no one will purchase anything off the market, and the balloon will pop, bringing the prices down to a more manageable level. Personally, I'd prefer to see the prices on heirlooms back down to 350k, like it was back in the day, but can't have everything.

Yeah, it's annoying. I've got almost 3mil in gold and sure as hell don't want to fork out 500k for each Loom Point I'm getting. You'd think with the abundance of new players still continuing to play and probably reach their first retirement, the price would have stayed the same. It didn't though, shame.

I don't have time to retire.
Worked my butt off to get 450k for a loompoint. Took me nearly 3 months.
By the time I got it, loompoints cost 500k...

It's not like it's unfair since on average everyone has about the same potential of gaining heirloom points. When people get fed up on prices I suppose more will start retiring and selling their points. Basic economics really, the demand for heirloom points hasn't gone down but the supply has so the prices go up.
In the meanwhile, let the retirefest commence!

In addition those lvl26-upkeepfree people earn around 400k gold if they play as long as other people need until retirement.
So if there are only 10-20 players doing this they are pumping 4 to 8 million gold in the market every generation.
They cant retire cause that would make them lose free upkeep so these people need to buy every loom => prices go up.

U gotta be a fuckign dedicated looser marketplaces poophamnerd to play lvl 26 gen 1 that long and fucking try to get any real enjoyment out of the game. But hey its a free country.

This pretty much started because marketplace offers are no longer permanent. At least, that's my observation. When marketplace offers started getting taken down after a week or so, that pretty much cut the appearance of supply, in half.

I agree with Tydeus. Every started edging upwards directly after that change was brought in. I think its probably that and not so much people not retiring for strat.
Also letting your alt ship loom points to your main would lower the prices as well *cough cough*
