I got my beta access today and was wondering if anyone else has access yet?
Add me on steam if you have it my steam is vvarz.
Thoughts so far....
Art outside of game on the menus is amazing looks much better than heroes of newerth and i personally better than league of legends which also has really nice art.
Gameplay is awesome as all the items and heros are from the original dota which were used in heroes of newerth.
So far im impressed and hooked already :D

It's good to hear that. Too bad i couldn't get in to beta :evil:
Dota was one my favorite games/modes, I just hated HoN and LoL started good but ended up being kindergarten with leavers/intentional feeders.
Since i don't have beta access i hope you get ganged 20 times each match and lose every on them :twisted:

Well each person that gets beta access gets given 2 beta key gifts, so if your lucky someone you know will have it, sadly only 3 of us got beta access so everyone had to be gifted and we still need a few more.

a guy from my faction (Bartering Brigade of the Black Tea) got it too. (Silver) He gave one of the copy to Autobus.
they actually told me to see 'em next month 'cause they play dota 2 now xD

Baah. I'd be perfectly happy playing HoN (or probably even original dota as much as I've learned to hate the UI and keybinds) if my friends still played it. Alas, some wait for DotA2 and others got DotA2. No games of that type for me for a while then I suppose since I don't seem to be lucky with beta keys and playing with randoms is just terrible.

Its a decent game but after playing hon for 1800 hours the Defence of the ancients map gets pretty boring lol

Just posting to shamelessly bump this since the game is awesome, but yeah.
DotA2 is better than HoN simply because of it's slower pace. Also you won't get total newbies to your matches at starter matchmaking level since the game lets you choose newbie / experienced / pro or something like that.
I have a couple of dozen of dota2 matches behind me. Sadly (but not surprisingly) the old rule still applies: Playing with total randoms is horrible.

I am hoping to see a beta key in my inbox, tho I have been waiting for quite some time now. If anyone got a spare key I could buy it for maybe 200k cRPG cash if thay would be okay with Donkeycrew :lol:

DotA2 is better than HoN simply because of it's slower pace.
Yet, this is the very reason I like HoN. I hate PVE'ing for 30 minutes to finally get to team fights.
With that said, I'll definitely be giving Dota 2 a go, and probably playing both.

It's not set in stone at all that you have to just kill creeps for 30 minutes. Ganks still happen and are meaningful, it's just that the game isn't as huge gankfest.
