Heyo.
So I've been playing some matches in strategus with my melee/cav toon, and I have a hard time going equal K:D. I just get shotz or killed by enemies with shield and scimitar.
I do reasonably well in duels and better in regular... whats the secret for a 2h in strategus?
(with my lvl 25 archer I have far better stats in strat)

You do this except the crazy because
If you're outnumberd -> retreat.
If you outnumber -> kill
If it's equal -> fight as a team (always look around as often as you can and sidehit/backstab oppononts fighting with your teammates while fighting your own enemy) -> clusterfuck

Field battles:
Always take a board shield if available + allowed
Use it like you're a 1h.
Once there's a melee switch to yor 2h and use thrusts/overheads to kill, preferrably against enemies your friendlies are alreadt fighting.
They have many shielders? Use a great axe/bardiche. They're usually available.
Dont be too eager for kills - this gets you shot, stabbed and raged on by friendlies whom you just tk'd.
Stay in cover.
If you have no pts in shield, dont stand in shield wall bcos Sod's Law means your shield will take 90% of all incoming arrows and as you are the weakest shielder there, it will break first. This nearly guarantees a death with no opportunity to kill cos u cant pick up shields with no shield skill.
Apart from that, try different approaches/areas of the map to fight in and see what works best.
Sticking behind a 1h and thrusting the guys spamming him is good.
For Sieges:
Attacker
- dont go solo up defended ladders
- use a shield, sometimes even when you get off the ladder, so your teammates can start fighting the enemy. As soon as they stop attacking you, go mental and kill as many as u can
Defender
- dont crowd 1 spot
- morningstar is always better than great maul
- take a sniper if allowed or bolts and loot the sniper (not sure how 0 wpf accuracy is affected post-patch)

pf they work excellent, you just need to learn how to fight well.

Thanks but no. 2h tactical value just ain't that great however good a blocker fighter you are.

unfortunately 1h didnt have it too good either
if the cav didnt lance u in the ass when u were in melee, the archers would flank and shoot you from either side
no defence against that if you want to actually engage in melee

True. The thing however is, that you can with a 1hand turtle build do well in the shield wall. Add to that extra wpf on polearms and give your guy 3-4-5 riding... Then you got a very flexible char for your team imo. Far more than 2h... I think ;)

So making a hybrid 1h/pole with riding is more flexible than a pure 2h? Damn, figured you that out on your own? :D
