Hey guys,
Its my gen 2, and I'd rather not make the mistake of my 1st gen, 6 points in shield and IF for cav,
is this build:
Level 30 (4 420 577 xp)
Strength: 21
Agility: 15
Hit points: 60
Skills to attributes: 2
Ironflesh: 2
Power Strike: 7
Shield: 5
Athletics: 5
Riding: 5
Horse Archery: 0
Power Draw: 0
Power Throw: 0
Weapon Master: 5
One Handed: 121
Two Handed: 1
Polearm: 100
Archery: 1
Crossbow: 1
Throwing: 1
okay for a pole/1h hybrid?
Thanks,
Universeruler

2IF isn't going to be really worth it.
IF is usually best used stacked in 5 points or more. 2 is literally +4 HP to your guy. So it's pretty useless, really.
Either pump more into it, or drop it entirely and allocate it somewhere else.

If the polearm skill is for the lance, I wouldn't even bother. The speed bonus alone will rope you a kill with the lance, so polearm prof is not entirely worth it
Of course, talk to a dedicated horseman before taking this specific advice. I dabble in cavalry, and this is what I've noticed (but definitely not set in stone).

Basic STR/AGI has the makings of a solid build

seems ok, 120wpp in 1h is enough, though with 100 in pole, you will slack a bit with slower wepons, but its more then enough for spears, pikes, etc.
-
Pikes on horseback? :D
edit: FOR PANOS!!
-
I've been using the german poleaxe and long awlpike (it works) decently, but I'm failing with the long maul, obviously, will it be worth it if I switch some or all of the 1h prof to pole prof? And I really don't know what to put my 2 extra attribute other than in IF, any ideas?
Edit: Just thought about this, if I drop shield altogether, (I really love swashbuckling :) ) and put it into IF, will it make a bit more sense? I'm not going to be cav every round at any rate, so I think the IF would help. What do you guys think?
-
leave it in IF,
-
Go 0WM and max out IF, put all WPF in 1handed if you want. I did basically that build last gen and it was pretty good if a little slow.
-
Or:
Strength: 18
Agility: 18
Ironflesh: 6
Power Strike: 6
Athletics: 6
Riding: 6
Weapon Master: 5
One Handed: 120
Polearm: 102
Edit some skill points if you want some shield or 1 more weapon master.

I'm going with the build I said, quite similar to yours Vexus,
Strength: 21
Agility: 15
Ironflesh: 7
Power Strike: 7
Athletics: 5
Riding: 5
Weapon Master: 5
One Handed: 120
Polearm: 102
Compared to your build Vexus
Pros: I'm much better off when I only use my pole on foot, with more str and if, ps also helps
Cons: I can't ride my courser :/ but I easily have the cash for destrier and I have a plated charger so not a big deal, I'm slower on foot, but if I'm going to chase down archers, I'd probably be even with them or slower with 6 ath anyways, thanks for the help guys.
P.S.Gazda you didn't answer my question :?
P.P.S.Badplayer, sadly I already put a bunch of WPF in pole
And I love my Aw-efu-l pike (get it?)
-
Up to you the riding also increases your riding speed as you will find many cav trying to kill you (Who most likely have on 6+ riding)
Also my opinion unless your going to use the one handed weapons on foot you shouldn't spend the wpf (Or that much) on one handed and focus more on pole, but that's my opinion like I said earlier up to you.
-
unless you have 50-100k banked and plan on using rouncey 24/7, going cav 2nd gen is going to bankrupt you
destrier or anything more expensive can cost you 10k a map easily
-
This is basically the build I had last gen but........... Get rid of the 2 IF and I didn't bother with athletics because I normally played on horsey but that is up to you. And unless you want to play with a ling spear or some other polearm on foot don't bother getting the polearm skill. 50 will suffice although you could probably get away with 0. On horseback you want to be couching which isn't affected by wpf( I think ) and you want to be lancing when your horse is at full speed. The wpf won't make much difference if you are on a full speed courser- although I used a rouncey coz its pretty quick and costs only 600g to repair. Edit: whoops you have already made your build, guess I was abit late....
