I've made a research for this but couldn't find the answer, so there it goes:
I am a shielder and my preferance is buckler as a shield. When I am facing with heavy weapon users (such as heavy long axe) I got stunned from their overhead swing when I block it with my buckler. This did not happen very often. I am not really sure if I was stunned from the weapon or my ping suddenly went up; I couldn't swing in time with my sword resulting me to kiss the ground. Is it possible to get stunned by a heavy weapon when you block the strike with a shield, or it was just a ping issue? By The Way, my character is not low leveled for being outspammed with a heavy weapon.

I have this effect as well mostly after overhead hits, so i think that is a simple block stun.
But on the other hand this stun works even with lighter weapons, but my shield is 2.5 times heavier than for instance a katana.
-
If you ask me there's shield stun just like weapon stun from getting attacked by a heavier weapon.
-
A wide and heavy shield helps vs stun.
-
So my questions are fully answered, including the ones that I have not asked yet. A big THANKS :D

This really ought to be reversed. Heavy weapons hitting a shield should be stunned/stuck IN the shield.
-
Another question, do heavier axes do more damage against shields? How about their damage differences (35c to 37c)?

no, a wide and heavy shield helps you, just like a heavy weapon helps you vs stun, the stun effect is related to both weapons weight, and seems to be affected if the attacker held his swing for the appropriate ~.5 second for a power swing

I (ab)use that a lot. Held overheads with my poleaxe, and then a quick right slash while moving left. Catch a lot of the player base, and makes me waste a lot less time than by using other methods.

Good to know. Would explain some deaths of me.

People that use 2H need some bonuses too, its hard enough fighting turtles anyway.
-
2h get the biggest bonus for creating stun(1.4), polearm is a bit below(1.3) and 1h is last(1). Interesting enough blunt gets another multiplicative bonus of 1.5 while the other damage types have a 1.
In the end there are only 2 types of stun: no stun(0.02s) and stun(0.52s). Which of both takes place is decided with a rather big comparision of attacker and defender weapon/shield with a lot modifiers like swing direction, item weights, hold bonus, etc. including the above mentioned stuff. Also there is no stun on quick swings as it seems. You have to hold your attack a bit to cause stun, no matter if it is a maul against a stick.

hmm. As I remember Morningstar was one of the best overhead stunning weapon pre-january.
Does «Bonus versus shield», «Crushtrough» helping in this case?
