Won't all of these new servers ask to put up a Strategus server? Furthermore, wouldn't this create a stalemate in strategus because people are afraid to lose wars due to the fact that they have like 500 ping? BUT, for just a random server for you guys to play on, I'm for it. :D

South Africa ran out of "Blood Diamonds" so they're tryin to find ways to keep up the revenue... hence the internet servers  lol

We had a very active member from Brazil, but he stopped playing due to ping.  I am sure you could get a community going if you had a decent server.

Well, there's Segroeg, Me, Gloin, Dedo_Seco... But that's all I know and that's hardly a community. Unless we are making a 10 slot server.

I am in Paraguay, stuck on a crappy 512KB wireless connection, having 250+ ping most of the time... so any improvement would be very welcome.

But AFAIK lots of providers down here route all their traffic via  forced proxies/gateways in the US, incl. mine, so a SA server won't help much...


Anyways: worth a try, my teammates would probably suffer a lot less... ;-)

P.S.: where are you other SA folks from?

No, it wouldn't be expensive, I guess the biggest challenge is to organize things, decide, and actually do it.
