Carry a stack of rocks or two if you are a melee user. Very effective in stunning running archers so you can close in for the kill.
-
Throwing knives is better, because:
1. still no requirement
2. 19 pierce is better than 11 blunt
3. you can pick-up them
4. 25% faster
Anyway, I like your idea to slow a little all melee chars

Acutally it's 19 cut and not pierce damage. So some of the heavier archers will laugh it off as they run away :P Then again, those are still more easily caught up to...

wut this is a ninja trick!
I personally carry 3 jarids and 8mw snowflakes.. it feels amazing to throw those stars at running archers..
-
Cant do that shit as a Flammy wielder :(

I don't recall hammer mentioning killing the archer with the throwing weapon at any point. Very good tip hammer. Though, I do agree that throwing knives are better simply because they are not stupidly impossible to pick up off the ground. Also, damage type is not all too important versus light armor...

Yeah I am just out to stun them long enough to walk up and slash them to death

Hm this is actually a good idea, will try it today!

Both are quite heavy (weight 3 or 3.5). Don't they slow you down?
-
Not worth the slowdown.

Not worth the slowdown and wpf reduction.
Lawl, thinking weapons and shield weight reduces your wpf xD

It does slow you down, however.

This is not a ninja trick Thomek. It's standart native equipment for infantry. This is just another illustration how boring, one-sidedly and barely playable our characters is, even in comparison with Native MP infantry.
Thanks to slot system, wpf distribution system and repair\wpf dependance.

My useful trick of today: don't play with your both eyes closed.
But you might still be better than others if you do that.

Oh dammit mixed it up again, correction: Not worth the slowdown.

No problem. Mind editing it in, btw? Too much wrong information around :P

On a similar note, it is imperative to carry smoke bombs. Archers get confused because they're so ineffective that they pause to wonder why, so they end up being as effective as intended.

True story
-
One time I was charging someone, and they pelted me with a smoke bomb. I was like "Honestly, who throws a smoke bomb?" As I glanced down at my health bar to see just what kind of pathetic damage was done to me, a cav lanced me from the side.
I was legitimately distracted... :(
