So I had the idea of leaving a character running in the duel server that would run a series of attacks in order... would be a stationary bot for the community to practice manual blocks on...
I thought this was a good idea, but I guess I'm not allowed to do it
Anyone support me in this idea? I benefit absolutely nothing from it
-
Would be better if it was randomized...does duel still give XP?
-
No XP or gold at all... just straight practice
-
it'd probably be easier to just ask the nditions or swadian duel server guys for the scripts for their bots. They have bots on the server that serve fine for blocking practice.
-
this could really help the cRPG community.
-
If we had a bot it wouldn't help us manual block, it would block everything. Now what you're trying to do is make a cover for some fool to help you get a bot so you won't suck in cRPG. If not I'm a total douchebag and you could really help the cRPG community. D:
The fuck are you talking about... this was a sincere post...
I'm talking about running a reptetitive script that would run a series of attacks while press F to accept duels.
-
Dashing, you do realize what he's talking about is a bot that ATTACKS. Not blocks, attacks.
-
Sounds cool to me. A spam bot of sorts? Teach people how to deal with a spammer :P

That. Or, get an admin to poll in a single bot onto the server. I rarely post, but this was most hilarious suggestion I've ever seen. Props Wallace.

Go to EU4 duel server, they got bots.
-
My mistake. :(
-
Wait a minute, couldn't you just load up Native, and then go to the Tutorial / Arena to practice?
-
Native is alot different than cRPG in both combat and gear ratings.. Your timing would be wayyyy off :D
-
Manual blocking isn't about timing.

Manual blocking isn't about timing.
You are right --
Good manual blocking is about timing.
The better your timing, the faster you can counter, kill, or block multiple people attacking you.
-
And the more likely you fall for someone who makes slow attacks on purpose or because he is a newbie.
Using the SP tutorial bot to practice doesn't hurt at all. The big advantage of a tutorial bot on the duel server is that you have something to do when you have noone to fight, until someone else joins.

If you fall for people who hold their attacks/ attack slowly it is your own fault. That is not knowing good timing at all. The people who fall for that are people who make assumptions -- not solid players.
also, uh you wait for the sound. It is not a hard concept.
-
Holding attacks at the right moment and place can get the best players, not to mention the average ones.
-
Yes, a couple of players know and hate me because of my delays.
-
PM Gash, Ecko, or Solanaar, the NA duel server does not hand out gold or xp so it might be a viable spot for an NA server

Yeah, when you're slicing down spammers left and right you don't have the luxury to be careful with your blocking, so if you then suddenly run into someone that holds you'll get hit. That's just the cost you pay for efficient killing. Of course if that holder manages to do it 2 or 3 times on you, then it's your fault.
-
I demand a Chimpbot!!!
Well, disregard the trollin' around, I find it a great idea, specially against a simulated facehuggin' spammer turtle bot, which is 60% of the population on the servers.
Thumbs up!

Especially in battle due to the quick pace of fights, not so much in duel since you have more time to gauge an opponent. Though a good trick is to do a quick series of atks/blks than hold one's next atk to mess with the pattern an opponent may have fallen into.

Holding attacks is still the main way of killing good people in duels.

1) I would love a parry-bot. I need practice, and the only ones who are good enough to help me practice always kill me quickly.
2) You should make this a poll.
-
I am still waiting for dummies that report damage taken. But a parry bot would be good too for the duel server.
-
I want a ChamberBot !
