Title: [STATS] Remove unbalanced from the bar mace.

As a lot of 2h users will agree, there is a very small selection of viable 2h weapons compared to polearms. Lets compare the bar mace and with the bec because they fill the same role.

Bar mace

weight: 4.5
difficulty: 15
speed rating: 92
weapon length: 96
thrust damage: 0 blunt
swing damage: 35 blunt
slots: 2
Can't use on horseback
Unbalanced
Knockdown
6,695

Bec de corbin

weapon length: 120
weight: 2.8
difficulty: 15
speed rating: 93
weapon length: 120
thrust damage: 26 pierce
swing damage: 34 pierce
slots: 2
10,806

Bar mace negatives compared to the bec.

* Slower.
* Unbalanced.
* Shorter.
* No thrust.
* Doesn't have polestun.
* Blunt does less damage than pierce vs armor.

Bar mace positives compare to the bec.

* Knock down.
* Weighs more.
* 2h has better animation.



As you can see its not even comparable. Even with unbalanced removed the bec is still the better weapon. The bar mace has been nerfed heavily as it should have been, but it wasn't given any positives after all those nerfs and now its a terrible weapon.

They're both shorter weapons that excel in doing high damage to heavily armored targets.

Morningstar fills same role as Bec then.. Barmace is for knocking people down.

Morning star does way more damage and breaks shields. The knockdown is more comparable to the bec polestun than to shield damage bonus.

the first 3 drawbacks of the barmace is made up for by the fact that it uses 2h animation

earlier active attack swing, longer 2h animation, makes up for the 1 speed/24 length disparity.

Though the unbalanced trait makes it slightly worse, you shouldn't be able to feint with a bar mace anyways

Give it crushthrough, nerf the weight.

I knew i forgot something on the positives. 2h animation is better. I don't agree with 2h animation making up for the first 3 negatives though.

It always bothered me that the bar mace was unbalanced because it doesn't at all look like its weight is terribly skewed toward the end of the weapon. I mean, the thing even has a pommel, which presumably would act to counterweight it as well.

I'd even be ok with reducing the weight or the damage if it meant that the item was unbalanced.

the bar mace could use some love, not sure if removing unbalanced is the way to go, one thing u can tell nobody wants one anymore(evidenced by the market)

I think damage should be revisited to compensate all blunt type weapons for the armor change, cause compared to the moriningstar or bec who basically ignore reduce type armor(most of what we have now), the blunt that maces use isn't as deadly as it was in the age of glancing(that doesn't realy exist anymore)

large heavy objects have little control once swung...hence unbalanced.

look at how many baseball players over-swing when trying to check their swing..and thats with a 2.5 lb bat....try a 4.5 lb one

No they don't. Crushthrough is op. They need to give them some love though because they nerfed them hard and gave them nothing in return. What they need to do is make more 2h weapons viable. There is almost no diversity in good 2h weapons. I have the choice to use a longsword or a greatsword and that's it. Look at polearms and all the good viable diverse weapons choices they have compared to 2h.

Barmace: very heavy, lots of blunt damage, knockdown.

bec de corbin: shorter than other polearms, very fast, piercedamage


What do they have in common?  Polestun isn't an arguement, as most polearms have it.
Barmace isn't very short, look at the morningstar, it is way shorter.

The only thing that might be considered as a change is giving crushthrough to the barmace and see if it's overpowered then or not.
Seriously, a massive bar of iron, thick as that thing, will probably cursh through most blocks^^

Umm... it had crushthrough.. it was overpowered.. so it was removed.

The barmace was horribly broken when it had CT. There is no way to balance CT on a 92 speed weapon.
