Based on my points available and what not, please tell me if the extra point to get Weaponmaster 8 is worth it over Weaponmaster 7.
E.g.
Two hand wpp on WM7: 164
Two hand wpp on WM8: 172
Share your thoughts. Benefit of 8 WPP instead of 7 in real terms
Please keep on topic thanks

8 WPM is always better than 7 WPM?
The question is, where else can you spend this skill point that would make 8 WPM less useful (Examples being shield, athletics etc.)

You have not given us any useful information pertaining to your build. Until you do, you will not get any useful feedback.

Build is a ninja, the extra skill point could go into Ironflesh.
Thats beside the point though, I want to know if there is any REAL-world benefit to 8 more WPP points between WM7 and WM8 or if there is more at play.
E.g. swinging 0.0001 seconds faster is not a real world benefit for example. But I do not know at all regarding WM7 > 8 if there's a better benefit other than invisibly faster swing... please share thoughts

My archer clan mate always said that something might happened when he crossed 170+... it might be psycological though!
-
Honestly, its no longer worth it.
Back before the wpf scaling was destroyed, you could get 180 and even 200 WPF pretty easily. And back then it made a huge difference (polearm agi was incredibly fast).
However, if you want to Hybrid, using the points you get from 8 Weapon master could probably net you 100 points in another skill (throwing for example).
-
I concur, with that high wpf the cost of increasing it is so high, it's not worth it. If you're not a hybrid, spend it on something else.
-
If I only had one point left and both were available, I would always take a point in Weapon Master over a point in Iron Flesh.
-
since patch I go (or plan to) never above WM5 for one weapon. 146-147 wpf is enough and you can spent those skill points (or the stat points used for high agility) much more effective on other things like more PS or more Athletic or shield or whatever depending on build. With hybrids its another case of course.
-
7 is more stylish than 8.
-
You don't need that much wpf.
-
check these: http://infinitum.dyndns.org/crpg/calc.htm
when i was counting if its worth going over 150 wpf, it was not, difference between 173 and 150 on 30 armor target was avg. 1,5dmg if i remember correctly. Instead of that you could get 150 / 113 or something like that, with 5 WM you should get to like 148 or so, which is just minor difference (ofc even 2hp can mean kill/survival, but still)
-
The answer is that nobody knows and there's no way of finding out without conducting some very extensive survey of thousands of battles. Are there more occasions when having 10 more wpf wins you the fight than there are occasions when you are reduced to 1 HP or 2 HP and your point of Ironflesh saves you? Nobody really knows.
-
Thanks Cepeshi that kind of makes the decision easier.
New question:
Str 13 > 14
Or
WM7 > WM8
What would you choose?
-
Strength 13 to 14 gives 1 hit point. Nothing else. WM 7 to 8 will make your two handed attacks ever so slightly faster and stronger. I would personally take a point of damage over a point of health, because you will have only 1 health bar per round, but you will make many attacks. Again though, both are very small gains. Strength 15 will actually give you some other options if you can free up another skill point or 2. For future generations, I would stop at WM 4 or 5 and get PS up to 5 at least. Put any remaining points towards maxing athletics if you haven't already.
-
Strength, because you can get one more PS at 15.
Again, you don't need that much wpf to be effective.
-
Iron Flesh is only worth it if you're constantly in pretty heavy armor. It's benefits are MUCH greater then. I'd go WM.
-
Str 14 will allow you to wear transitional and churburg. Not that this would be a big advantage, but I like to run around in plate armor from time to time.

NEW QUESTION:
Ironflesh 5
PowerStrike 5
Atheletics 7
WeaponMaster 7
OR
Ironflesh 4
PowerStrike 4
Atheletics 8
WeaponMaster 8
For ninja build.
Which to go?
-
Might as well go for the official spammy ninja build:
* Strength: 12
* Agility: 27
* Hit points: 49
* Converted: 8
* Ironflesh: 1
* Power Strike: 4
* Shield: 0
* Athletics: 9
* Riding: 0
* Horse Archery: 0
* Power Draw: 0
* Power Throw: 0
* Weapon Master: 9
* One Handed: 1
* Two Handed: 181

So this is the difference between a 15/21 and 12/24 build? Of these 2 choices, I like the first one. It looks more well rounded to me. Wait, how did you end up with 24 skill points? You should always have an uneven number.
Iron Flesh is not important. It is definitely a dump stat for ninjas. I think I see what you're going for, and I've changed it up:
Level: 30
Health Points: 54
Strength: 15
Agility: 24
Ironflesh: 2
Power Strike: 5
Athletics: 8
Weapon Master: 8
-
I wouldn't bother with iron flesh at all for a ninja. There's no point if you don't have heavy armor. If you have 2 extra skill points handy, convert for 1 AGI and get another .5% weapon speed.
-
Very good point.
-
Yep, no iron flesh, not even as dump. Use power throw as dump and take along some throwing stars.
-
I as an old Ninja- favorited this build for me, as i dont need the one point in ironflesh at lvl 30 and think one agi point is better than 8 wpf on weaponmaster 9:
* Strength: 12
* Agility: 28
* Converted: 10
* Ironflesh: 0
* Power Strike: 4
* Shield: 0
* Athletics: 9
* Riding: 0
* Horse Archery: 0
* Power Draw: 0
* Power Throw: 0
* Weapon Master: 8
* One Handed: 1
* Two Handed: 173
Btw- after my last retirement i am still lvl27 but i will build my char this way. Together with my beloved Tempered Miaodao should i be a true jumpslashing, satanic-bastardblackmetalninja from Hell at full Might in the holy geekland Crpg.
My Mind is not just the Armor- its as well my Weapon.
edit- ah i just saw Kong Mings Post already made this point ;) Nah Twice as Nice...

I used to be cav, and I am very effective at it. I Will mostly be on foot but I do like knowing I can hop on rouncey and start pwning...
Which should I go? I am mostly concerned if the WM7 -> WM8 difference is noticeable, and more importantly, if Athletics 7 -> 8 is noticeable
-
I should note I already got Ironflesh 4 before creating this thread so I dont have the option of having a low IF anymore. I'm currently IF 4 and PS 4
-
I think 3 riding is kinda useless as you'll be short on the kind of horses you can use, weapon master is also overrated with the new patch, all I need is like 3 weapon masters on my agi guys and I'm doing incredibly well and have bunch of points to put in other stats.
-
I'd go with the horse. WM 7 - 8 and Ath 7 - 8 is not a big difference.
-
The 15/24 is more or less my build, except that I have 2 points in shield, which a ninja doesn't want. I agree about Ironflesh, but you're stuck with it now.
-
Actually, he isn't...he could retire and do the build properly. Only some hours of playtime lost, nothing severe...
