Title: Rollback - 24h
Post by: chadz on October 14, 2011, 12:09:15 pm
Due to a bug (trading multiplies items) we will have to do a rollback, about 24h.

Sorry.

Yeah and all that thanks to the fellow people who felt like exploiting this was a smart idea.

Like that cool person who came to irc yesterday, asked how to transfer goods to other players and then in the next sentence asked if he could carry 1000 goods.
People like that fail hard.

Everyone who exploits in this mod does though :/
Why do you think making this more work for us or in this case chadz only will help the progress of the mod?

^ this

+1 kudos to the guy in the bug forum who saw this bug and reported it rather than all of us finding out about it 6 weeks from now when we're wondering how the Herper Derper Army is attacking with 5000 plated chargers.

What you guys need to do is have a bug report forum that anyone can post in, but only developers can read. That way when someone finds a game breaking bug and decides to report it, not everybody else knows about it and can instantly exploit it.

Actually it's only a 13h rollback.
And i agree although everyone by now should have learned that exploiting mostly means a rollback.

Yeah, it looked like the backup from midnight (13 hours ago) was still uncontaminated, so it's only a 13h rollback.

I was in the Virgin Islands once. I met a girl. We ate lobster, drank piña coladas. At sunset, we made love like sea otters. That was a pretty good day. Why couldn't I get that day over, and over, and over...

I didn't even hear about the bug for now, but I could hardly blame anybody for exploiting if they were part of the last round of Strategus. It was practically mandatory to stand a chance. Dev team did great with this correction, and I hope swift correction follows future exploiting.
