Title: New c-rpg server. ( no repairs and only XP gain)

i have a suggestion. what about making a server where you dont need to pay for repairs. so players can use theyr best gear whitout thinking of the repairs. like in old c-rpg. and when you get your XP/Gold you can only make XP and not gold to keep it allright. ( you dont gain gold only XP, and do not get repairs costs.)

I like the idea ;) then if people want not to play whit over powered guys, they can enter the normal battle server. I really like your idea ;)

I kinda like the idea, you get to use your "heavy freakout" gear and dont have to repair. But instead of just getting xp you should just cut it out and have no xp nor gold cuz then we can just farm on the big lvls like in thy old crpg :D

Why don't you want it Punisher? you can play at your normal server while we want to play whit the no repair system give it a chance mad bro !!!

No repair = no gold / no exp

I guess that's what wanted to say Punisher...

But i'm 150% sure that chadz will never let a no repair server run, for sure, you can give him your -100.

You know anyone can host a server, as long as it's not connected to the database there will be no gold/XP gain but also no repairs. XP gain without upkeep will never happen.

Not connected to the database as in no database writing. Any server running cRPG mod can read the database.

Anyone can follow this guide http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,5960.0.html and set up his own server, it will by default have no xp/gold/repairs.

Will the server then be online so people can join and do i need to portforward ?

You can chose a port in the server config file. You can check if the server is online and working properly yourself by joining it (since you will be running a dedicated server there is no other way to enter it anyway).

There's already a server up like this.  The Snowhawk Texas Toast server.  It hasn't been connected it to the database yet because the server host doesn't have a static IP.  But in the meantime anyone can go there and wear whatever you want for fun; of course there's no xp or gold gain, but there's also no repairs.  Can be fun every once in awhile.  We use it ourselves just to bullshit around periodically with ridiculous gear n' such.

Yeah there was about 10-15 on there last night doing some ridiculous tin-can shenanigan deathmatch free-for-all n' the like.  Was fun to get away from the usual herp n' derp for about an hour or so. =P

Make it so you only get half the xp as normal. Half the gold as normal and half the repair cost of normal.
